Working only a half day tomorrow and then Emme & I are off to Disney!

We are staying the shortest amount of time but it's going to be fantastic.

We will be at ohana dinner on Friday & then MVMCP with Rachel & Corey. Hooray!!!

Good morning and greetings from Disney World!


I arrived here yesterday and received a huge dose of pixie dust when I was upgraded to CL at the Yacht Club!! I'll tell you all about it when I kick off our joint report, probably around the 16th. There are 9 of us here so far and we all got together last night at blue zoo for cocktails. Despite the fact that I had previously met only 2 of the 9, this meeting felt like a gathering of old friends. However we are still missing three of our "old friends", and speaking of which...

...so

i was the last to arrive & i think the first to leave.

my trip was really short and it was possibly the most stressed, upset & angry i've ever been at disney. everything that could go wrong...went wrong. there was no pixie dust remotely close to emme & i during this trip.

HOWEVER...

i REALLY enjoyed my [short] time meeting everyone during dinner @ yachtsman steakhouse. it was really wonderful to put faces to familiar names & listen to stories. also phillip (linda's DH) gets a gold star and has reached rockstar status in my book as he kept emme highly entertained during dinner. the dinner was the highlight of my trip.

i'm sad i didn't get to spend more time with you all but the short time that i did, i had a really super fantastic time. it was absolutely wonderful meeting everyone!

they are at the outpost in animal kingdom. it is located before the entrance into asia (the bugs life ride is perpendicular to it). you can get a fast pass for it.

emme shared her minnie doll dressed as marie from the aristocats.

rachel got emme the target "bullseye" dog dressed as mickey. mickey loved it!


they were the absolute CUTEST in their holiday outfits. i was grinning from ear to ear the entire time. unfortunately, the photopass guy didn't take such a great picture with my phone but i bet the photopass picture came out great.

I have a bit of a favor to ask of those in the world currently....

DH and I were in the world back in October and thoroughly enjoyed the salad and pot stickers at Ohana. I forgot to ask for the recipes before we left for the night.

If anyone happens to be going near there do you think you could stop by the check in desk and ask to have them sent my way? (Our waiter at the time said they do that regularly for people)

Barb, I'm not surprised that you got the awesome upgrade - you are now in the company of the queen of upgrades (Brenda)! It's great that so many of you are enjoying the World at the same time.

I just finally caught up on more than 2 weeks of this thread. From personal experience I can verify that when dining at Garden Grill your wait person will bring you all the sweet potato fries you wish; you simply need to request them. Our experience there was as a couple with no children in February. Those fries are delicious as was the rest of our meal there.

Also, when we dined at 'Ohana's Friend's breakfast last month we informed our waitress of several food preferences. She accommodated all of them. We can't eat melon (digestive problems with it) so she brought us dishes of just raspberries and fresh pineapple and even brought seconds when those were finished. We omitted sausage entirely and requested extra bacon, cooked crisply, as a substitute. We asked for the scrambled eggs with no salt or pepper added which is how DH eats his. I simply added pepper to mine at the table. We suggested also omitting the potatoes because we knew we would only eat a few but she suggested bringing a smaller portion than usual and that was nice. Our grandson was with us and he really enjoyed the Mickey waffles (as did I) which were also replenished for us when requested. Juice was refilled without even needing to request as were water and DH's coffee. For food and service I give this a 5 out of 5. The only thing I'd keep in mind for next time is that 'Ohana is notorious for seating you way beyond your ADR time. This also happened to us but after waiting about 20 minutes beyond our ADR time (and we had checked in about 30 minutes early) I did go speak with the hostess to see how much longer of a wait we would have since my DH was beginning to feel ill due to lack of food in his system. We were seated within 5 minutes of that conversation.

Hi everyone! I personally want to say that it was a pleasure getting to spend time with all of the lovely ladies (and some of the men) during this trip.
