Love all the F&W Photos. It is making me very excited for our upcoming trip! Two weeks from today I'll be there! And looking forward to trying that Key Lime Wine.

The only bad thing about going this year is that I have been working very hard to loose some weight. And so far down about 15 lbs since June. So, I don't know how much I will be eating. Drinking, oh yeah, no problem . Ha Ha. Good thing there will be such a large group of us, 11, that I can maybe just take a bite of everything that they get.

One more update came in after I went to bed last night, this one from DonaldDoleWhip.


He said, "We arrived at Yacht Club at around 11am - our room wasn't ready, so we headed straight to Epcot. It felt great to be back in the Epcot resort area."






"Once we picked up the souvenir passport, I couldn't wait to start experiencing the international marketplaces. Our first stop was:





"The Griddled Greek Cheese gets a 3/5 from me. I'd give it a higher score based solely on flavor, but my mom got a piece of pistachio shell when she took a bite. Not the best start to our Food & Wine sampling."





"The Taste of Greece fared better - I'd give it a 4/5."







"Next up:





"We chose the Chocolate Orange Cupcake - it gets a 3/5 from me. The orange flavor reminded me of a creamsicle, which I didn't love with the chocolate. (To me, "chocolate orange" makes me think of the classic confection that combines chocolate and orange oil.)"







"After that, we tried one of the booths I was most excited for:





"The Vegetarian Haggis gets a 4/5 - it was a bit salty, but I still enjoyed it (especially the rutabaga)."






"The Seared Scottish Salmon was the clear winner for us - we'd both get it again, and I loved the salmon with the bitter watercress. 5/5"







"Hawaii came next."





"The tuna poke wasn't bad, but I think it should've had a bit more tuna (there were only 4 cubes of fish). 3/5"







"We also stopped at the vegan booth, Terra."





"We tried the chocolate cake, which was interesting. The cake itself tasted 'vegan' (which isn't a good thing), but the tangy passion fruit sauce added a ton of flavor. This ended up being one of my favorites - 4/5."








"We then made our way to...

"We loved the garlic shrimp with the rapini, and we'd both get it again. 5/5"





"The pavlova was less successful - I thought the shell was extremely hard, which made it difficult to eat (we quickly settled for the custard and berries). 2/5"







"Next up:





"The seared mahi mahi with "Singa sauce" slightly disappointed me, since soy sauce seemed to be the most prominent flavor. Still, the fish was cooked very well - 3/5"






"We both really liked the lemongrass chicken curry - it packed much more flavor than we were expecting. 4/5"






"The Singapore booth placed my stamp in a rather interesting location.






"The rest of the F&W updates will come tomorrow, as I'm basically falling asleep right now!" ​

"I had the Raspberry Sangria, which was good...





"Yummy Crab Boursin with crackers...I could have made a meal of this!"






"Lobster Bisque with lump crab meat on top...Good but really rich."






"Fried Calamari...Tender and good, a little different as it was served with a sweet chili dipping sauce instead of marinara. It also came with fried peppers, which my DFIL enjoyed."






"Kids crab legs (sorry the pictures are dark...I didn't want to use my flash.)...





"Crab cakes served on top of fried green tomatoes and maque choux...




"This was delicious! A perfect blend of flavors...unfortunately our entrees were warm but not hot but we were hungry so we didn't send them back. They would have been better hot though!"

"Chase and I decided to get mugs, but calling them Rapid Refill is ironic. We haven't found them user friendly so far. They have to be sitting exactly so the machine can read the chip. Maybe there's a trick to it that I don't know. But by looking at our receipt, it looks like we got to use our TIW discount."

We have received the rest of DonaldDoleWhip's report from his first visit to the Food & Wine Festival booths yesterday.

He said, "The next booth we tried was:





"The lobster roll was quite good. I prefer lobster rolls to be simpler (my preference is lobster meat and a tiny amount of butter), but the lemon flavor wasn't overpowering. 4/5"






"The grilled lobster tail appears to be hit-or-miss, but ours was good and not too mushy. Also, both of the lobster items are excellent values when using snack credits. 4/5"







"We enjoyed these items in the Chase Lounge, which is located inside the American Adventure."

"Our next stop was Tangierine Cafe, where we ordered the chicken shawarma platter to split."




"I actually didn't eat much of this (aside from the tabouleh), since there was another booth nearby that I wanted to try:'






"The mussels get a 4/5 from me - each shell contained plenty of meat, and the garlic butter and breadcrumbs were very tasty."







"To finish things off, we stopped at one of my favorite locations in Epcot."

"Since it was such a hot day, I didn't feel like the warm brioche with ice cream (croque glacé). Instead, I got the chocolate macaron ice cream sandwich. The faux newspaper is a really nice touch."





"As for the macaron sandwich itself, it was definitely the best macaron I've had in WDW (and my favorite Epcot snack of the day). Since it contains thick ice cream and is served cold, the sandwich has a wonderfully chewy texture (and a great flavor). Hopefully they'll add more flavor options soon - pistachio or salted caramel would be perfect!"





"The macaron ice cream sandwich definitely gets a 5/5."




"Once our room was ready, we got settled and I walked over to DHS (to use some last-minute FP+ that I booked)."
