This was a spur-of-the-moment trip!
Cast of characters--
Kathy, motor-home driver extraordinaire, 47
Barbara, 'kid-sister' to Kathy and author of this report, 45
Debbie, friend and co-worker, 47
Minnie, 31 foot Winniebago Minnie class C motorhome, also known as Nana's Little House
Kathy and I had taken a trip to WDW last month. It was a 'family' trip, which in our case meant the two of us, our 70-year-old mom, her 15-year old son, her 21-year-old daughter, the daughter's SO, the 18-month-old granddaughter, and the dog (Gunnar, a Corgi).
Well, that trip was so much fun (and work) that we decided we wanted to go back and do some of the things we liked. It needed to be quick, as our AP's expired on Aug. 1.
We decided on Sunday, July 15th, to call for reservations and we were able to get them beginning on Wednesday! Then we called a few friends, but turns out only Debbie was able to come. We picked her up at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, and we were off! We left several pouting family members at her house and ours, but did we care?!
We headed over the hills and far away (and over Monteagle Mountain and I hate that!) and made it to the Flying J at the GA-FL border by about 8 p.m. We had barbeque sandwiches for supper, watched a good, old movie, and settled down for the night.
Tomorrow--arrival!
