MIL/SIL are 100% EO people. Will they be allowed to bring EO rollers into the parks? They're about the size of a lipstick tube for people who aren't familiar.

I don't see why not but this will be my first trip carrying EOs too.

Official rules state, "glass containers (excluding small containers such as baby food jars). I've purchased Guerlain lip gloss in a glass container IN EP, so I would assume the EO's in a similar sized container would be fine.

I brought a rollerball perfume that was slightly larger than a lipstick tube in to Animal Kingdom, and the bag check guy didn't hesitate over it at all. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure I had a glass bottle of foundation in my bag that day too. No one said anything to me.

This definitely makes it look like it should be no issue at all. I think the no glass rule is really about not allowing beverages in glass containers in the parks. Little stuff like an EO roller or a makeup jar should be a non issue.

What exactly is the point of carrying them? (Legit question...not familiar with them.)

Non issue. I often have a little bottle of essential oil in my purse and it's no biggie. It's more for glass containers of food/drink. And I imagine no glass baby bottles (way too easy for those things to break and cause a mess)

Probably not an issue as they are such small bottles ; it's hard to crush them or throw them at people to cause pain or destruction. Though they still have to be stowed in a 311 bag when flying... ;)

However... Disney security retains the right to take away anything that they feel could be a problem or a threat, so I would advise your friends to be as compliant and friendly as possible :)

If it would absolutely RUIN their trip to be without, then have them look into manufacturers that use non-glass packaging, or just re-pour the oils into a plastic bottle. Or use disposable plastic straws... you cut a straw up, melt the end, fill it up, and melt the end closed.

They have various uses, including one is used as a hand sanitizer. Peppermint is used to for headaches. Lavender is used for anxiety.

Thank you. I am always sent into allergic fits by people selling stuff on the subway that looks like what I guess these things do - way too strong for me. Hopefully the open air of the parks would dissipate it if I am near people using them.

Just confirming...into the parks? I would *hate* for them to get confiscated or whatever because I know they can be expensive.
Ah sorry, I meant to say into the parks.
We always bring some peppermint EO to settle our stomachs after space mountain :scared:

The essential oil scents really don't carry. When me and my mom use them we either take internally, or we just smell from the bottle. Sometimes we roller ball it on but it sinks in very quickly.

They can always put them in their pocket, instead of a bag, if they are truly worried about it.

True pure EOs shouldn’t cause that sort of reaction, especially with a casual encounter. Most of the time that reaction is from the manmade chemicals in “scents”.

Not saying no one can be allergic to EOs, but that it’s less likely.

I am wildly allergic to “lavender” in even the organic laundry detergent lbs (makes me feel like I washed clothes with ground glass...just a horrible painful skin itch where the clothes touch the most...same reaction I get to Tide), but the EO company’s lavender that I use does nothing like that to me.

I have heard of one instance, and not at Disney but at Uni Hollywood, of EOs not being allowed in. She didn’t give herself enough time to take them back to her car (or, frankly, pretend to do so then go to another screener) so she threw them out (hyperventilating about that idea here).

So make sure MIL and SIL give themselves time to do *something* if they for some weird reason are denied.

Thanks for asking! I am bringing peppermint EO for the first time to Disney as I have learned through experience that it helps me when I feel nauseous.
