No FOOL-ing around the April 2025 W.I.S.H. Thread

Oneanne, I’m so sorry that you’re in pain. This year I switched from carrying a heavy teacher tote bag, lunchbox with two 24 oz. water bottles, and my purse on my shoulders to using a cart on wheels. My shoulders couldn’t handle it anymore and I started noticing colleagues using these carts. It’s the best thing I’ve ever bought as a teacher. I'm able to fit a lot inside, plus put stuff on top when necessary, and I hang my purse on the handle. It's a total game changer. The only negative is that I bought it at amazon which I'm now trying to boycott.

This looks like an awesome teacherly thing!

I am woohooing DS survived his 19th birthday. It has been a week for him. On top of a lot of stress lately (he let a lot of what was going on with his grandparents and sister to pile up, then decided he didn't want to be a teacher and the stress of not knowing what he wanted to do with his life all added up to a lot of stress), He got a fever on Sunday was gone on Monday (his birthday) then back yesterday. He decided to go to the doctor yesterday and he has strep. Then Monday while he was getting gas a car rear ended him. When he went to the doctor they told him that his BP was high. That was not a surprise with all his stress. We are working on it with him and going to monitor it. I think with in the next few weeks as he gets everything figured out and he sees his therapist his BP will come down.

Woohoo... for getting an adjustment today, I am so looking forward to being unstuck.

Woohoo... vacation is now 4 weeks away and if I really apply myself, I still have time to drop the eight stress pounds I put on during moving and settling.

They say the tariffs will increase monthly expenses in a single-person home by about $175 per month. I've already saved that amount thru lower utility costs and reducing streaming services, but I'm trying to figure out how to carve out another $150 in savings. Yesterday I realized that there was $60 a month coming out of my check for our employee stock purchase plan, which is now defunct because we're going private, so woohoo, I'm really only looking for $90 in savings... I can realize that just by not buying yarn!

Hello there! Yes, yesterday was my first regular work-day back in the office since covid. While remote work was being offered, I had moved away from the city so when they canceled it, I had to move close enough to be able to go in three days a week. I'm doing a ramp up of one day for a couple weeks, then two and then up to three. Commuting and being around people and in the city again is a big change.
It's hard adjustment isn't it? We all had to work from home for very long time and people made adjustments to accommodate this. Now all companies seem to be pushing for return, some gradual some flexible others full time.

I moved job myself and my commute is much shorter but the location very boring so this also takes time to adjust. But there was no way I would stay in the old job considering how strict they got and my longer commute. I also have to be 3 days in, with the expectations to be in for at least one full and two half days which works well for me. But I had to move job to find such arrangement.

It is going to be a big adjustment, even bigger than I thought. Moving to a new place to be able to do the commute has been a bigger challenge than any other move I can remember, but I think it will be all good in the end.

I am thankful to have thought to call my old chiropractor and that they were able to see me so quickly. Everything adjusted well except for my neck, which is still quite sore. Yesterday I just went to my appointment and came home but when I go back up Saturday, I'll spend some time down at the beach and bonus thankful... low tide will be at just the right time.

I've been ordering and returning a ton of clothing because nothing was right. But thankfully yesterday a blouse and pair of pants arrived that I love, so I've ordered the same in different colors. I have some more things coming, but if they don't work out I know I at least have two tops and two pairs of pants for vacation... more of a capsule wardrobe than I was thinking but I can make it work.

I am thankful the sun is shining

I did interesting exercise to look at my posts here, and my dairy in my fitness pal when I was happy with my weight and the way I ate and exercise. It has been so interesting! Co Pilot helped me analyse some of myfitness pal data. It was wonderful to recall happier time and that going with flexible, loving life, loving healthy eating mentality feels so good compared to thinking negatively

Hello Friday. This was a rather strange work week mostly due to challenges with communication, so I'm going to write it off to Mercury going direct and slide on into the weekend.

Big plans... going back up to PT for my second chiro appointment tomorrow. I'm contemplating how early I want to go and possibly doing breakfast at one of my favorite places in addition to the walk on the beach. I also need to do some household things over the weekend to get ready for hosting Easter, mostly getting the second bedroom ready for my sister to stay in.

Vacation countdown... 29 days day till departure. In addition to doing more walking to get legs/feet conditioned I'm testing out different shoes - today it's my Keen walking sandals. My feet are so problematic that having more shoes with me to choose from is more important than having many outfits... so it may well end up being a couple changes of clothing and five or six pairs of shoes.

It has been a week!! I have to work a bit over the weekend but at least if there is an issue it won’t be on me to fix it…just kind of along for the ride.
Kids are on vacation next week and we are hosting Easter so time to start getting ready
