No fitted sheet on bed

I'm at the Royal Pacifc right now and noticed that there isn't a fitted sheet on our bed, but there are three normal sheets. Is this normal?

Most hotels have gone away from using fitted sheets. Instead they tight tuck a flat sheet. It cuts down on space because flat sheets fold flatter and makes inventory easier to manage because there is only 1 type of sheet.

Yep, and I hate it. We were in 2 different hotels in Gatlinburg last month and they both had this. One of them worked ok, the other was not big enough and it wouldn't stay tucked for anything.

I can probably count on one hand the number of hotels I have stayed at that do use fitted sheets. Almost all just use flat sheets.

Yep! what really drives me are the ones who no longer use a top sheet! Just a bottom sheet and a comforter/duvet!

Yuck! I'd hate that. I only sleep under a sheet. Comforter/duvet would be too hot

Executed properly, a flat sheet has a better fit than 'fitted one'.

Upscale properties are trending to triple sheeting method = bottom sheet, then sandwiching blanket between two top sheets; with optional bed scarf vs a comforter/duvet (that you know isn't washed with each guest...good riddance!)
