No Fantasmic dinner packages?

I booked all our ADR back in the Summer for our trip next week. I got all the ones I wanted (Crystal Palace lunch, Garden Grill dinner, Tusker House breakfastt) but I was not able to get a Fantasmic Dinner package. We mainly wanted to do this because Fantasmic is only one night that week and so we figured it would be crowded. We have two 3 year olds so staying for the 9 show is not really a good idea. We need to get into the 7 show.

Without a ADR on that I think we will have to get there 2 hours early to make sure to get in and get a seat. I would rather have the reserved seats that come with the dining package. When I called to reconfirm our ADRs I asked again and still no openings for anything on the Fantasmic dining package. Would it be prudent to call back everyday and ask? Or should I ask the day off to see if there are any cancellations?

Do you think I am more likely to get one that way?

I think your chance of getting a reservation same day are very very slim. Call every day. We ran into a situation like yours last summer, and did get a package by calling EVERY day (usually a couple times). I did not get my first choice in restaurants, but did get the package eventually.

the packages are really, really hard to get. I was literally floored that we were able to snage one at 4 months out for this trip! I would suggest just calling every day and hoping for the best.

Chances of getting a F! package at this point are slim to none. They do not take walk-up F! packages or same-day ones.

But all is not lost...this is not the busiest time of the year...next week should be slower (a lot of Fall breaks are this week)

So if you show up at the theater about 70 minutes before the show you should be arriving at the tail end of the humongous line (all the people who lined up 2 hours ahead) and you should still be able to get seats...maybe not many choices left on where to sit, but you can see from everywhere in the theater so it's not critical to sit front & center. Take some snacks in with you & maybe some light-up toys (unless you want to shell our $15 per kid at the theater) The crowd is usually pretty entertaining in there...lots of "wave" fun going on. It's not like the kids have to sit still & be quiet...lots of visiting going on.

Thanks guys. I will probably call once a day just to see if they have any cancellations. If not we will just try to get there early enough to get in and try to keep them entertained with food and I bought glo sticks that I am bringing so they can have light stuff to play with while waiting in the dark.

I would keep trying if you really want it.. but honestly the seats you get with the package really aren't that good. We aren't getting the package because we get better seats without it!

Fantasmic dinner reservations have a 48 hour cancel policy to avoid being charged for the meal (even with DDP). Try 3 days ahead, esp. late in the day, and again 2 days prior. Some cancellations may have freed up space, BUT they go fast.
