No Documents?

 After reading that others who are sailing with me and after me had already received their documents I called DCL about mine. I was told that because I had booked a cat. 12 GTY our stateroom had not been assigned yet and we might not receive our documents before we leave.

This is our first cruise so I knew nothing about the GTY thing, I was told that I could call and they would go ahead and assign us a stateroom but we would risk not being upgraded.

We booked our flights with Disney and I have this fear of arriving at the airport with nothing and being told that we can't board without the proper paperwork.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Just a nervous Nelly here!

Don't worry , you can definately collect paperwork at port, we didn't think ours was going to arrive in time and we were told to check in at port, as long as you have your ressie number you'll be fine. E mail DCl to get this confirmed in writing via e mail to make you feel happier

I use a CPAP machine at night due to Apnea, is there an outlet next to the bed?

There are no usable outlets next to the bed. The closest one in at the desk, across the room. You will need an extention cord to reach the bed. An extention cord and/or a power strip are good to bring with you. The outlet at the desk is on the side of the desk down very near the surface. If you have anything to plug in that has a large head (instead of the regular plug) if will not fit.
There is also one unused outlet behind the TV. (TV uses the other one) Also the plugs in the bathroom will only allow a shaver to be pluged in, no curling iron or personal hair dryer will fit.

Thanks for the info Grandma, I would have been without power for my CPAP and would have had trouble with headaches and drowsiness.

P.S. I'm a Grandma too!

O.K., so we start our trip in 11 days, I spoke with DCL this morning and was told that they still haven't assigned our stateroom, therefore we don't have any documents yet. I do believe them when they tell me that it will be o.k. if we don't have them before we leave but the nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach just won't go away.

I like to have my ducks in a row and having the paperwork with me would certainly ease my mind. Has anyone else out there traveled without their documents?

If you like your ducks in a row, you should reconsider your "risk losing an upgrade" stance. With an already assigned stateroom, your ducks are in a row. With the possibility of being upgraded, you gain the chance for a better stateroom. Time to make a decision whether or not you are going to stress about it.:yo-yo:

Have no fear. I cruised with Disney in March of 2003. I literally booked my cruise FIVE DAYS before the ship left (very last minute trip, lol). I paid way too much money, but it was a lot of fun.

Obviously I didn't get my paperwork in time. They didn't even bother mailing it to me. I got there and told a CM that I didn't have paperwork and they helped me fill everything out. Took about 10 minutes and then I checked in and never looked back. :)

very easy!

:sunny: We were finally assigned a stateroom today, so hopefully the documents will be here soon.

We were moved to a cat. 11 room on deck 7 that is handicap accessable, has anyone stayed in one of these?

My father also uses the machine at night for his sleep apnea. When he cruised on NCL, he forgot a power strip the first time, and the room steward found a heavy-duty extension cord for him. What he found that he needed was something to hang the tube. For his next cruise he brought both an extension cord and a clip that he used to hang the tube the way he was used to doing at home.

I, too, am nervously awaiting my documents for my 11/4 cruise. We ended up with a GTY cabin after we added a fourth person, so I am hoping that the delay is due to the fact that they are going to give me a better cabin!
