Ok Here Is My Rant,Looking At AKL Club Level,Disney USA Have Availabilty For My Dates & Club Level, When I Phoned Them & Enquired About It They Said That They Cannot Offer Me Both But Yet I Can Book The Club Level Room Through There Website But That Doesnt Offer Me Free Dining They Can Offer Me A Savanna Room With The Free Dining But I Want The Club Level Room Too,I Only Found Out About The Free Dining From Another Member Here They Did Say I May Be Able To UPGRADE To Club Level When I Arrive But I WANT TO KNOW NOW That I Can Get It So I'm Not Very Happy,So What Should I Do!! Book The Savanna & Get Free Dining& Hope That I Can Upgrade To Club level When I Arrive Or Just Book The Savanna Whats The LikelyHood Of Being Able To UPGRADE To Club Level!! They May Not Even Allow It

We're just hoping to be able to upgrade to AKL Club when we get there, that is what my CM told me too. We just paid for the Savannah and hope to be able to pay to upgrade when we get there (with FD )

Personally, I would never go to Disney World and hope that I get an upgrade. Yes, it does happen and all that is joyfully reported on these boards. But then there are the thousands of people who go to Disney World every year and not be able to upgrade.

The Club Level Is More Important to Me Than The Free Dining I Have Just Come Off the phone To Disney USA & They Have Advised Thats Its Very Unlikely That I Would Get An Upgrade To Club Level When I Arrived As The Club Level/Free Dining Rooms Have Been Sold,So I Now Understand & No I Wont Be Going In The Hope Of A Upgrade To Club Level I Shall Just Book It

Well I was Always Going To Be Booking The Club Level Until Someone Here Pointed Out The Free Dining Dh Has Always Said To Me That He Would Not Want To Have To Be Making ADR As How Can We Predict When We Are Going To Be Hungry I See His Point,At Least With Club Level Yes The "Snacks" Are At Set Times But At Least U Know They Will Be There & You Are Not Having To Make ADR For Them So Overall We Will Much Prefer "Club Level" Our Other Meals We Will Just Eat As & When We Are Hungry

Cl at AKL offers more then just food, although that is a big one as well.

So lets talk about the food usually Disney does not allow free dining with CL - but they allow the DDP. With the basic DDP you get a counter , snack and full. IF you use your counter in the morning with some odds and ends from the CL lounge you have one heck of a breakfast. Then if you come back to the room in the afternoon to rest ( we always do) you can pick up a quick bite of something from the CL lounge and tne be okay until the dinner ressies come up - which depending on the time of year and crowds can be late.

Now for the other benefits at CL in AKL you get the chance to do both private safaris. The morning one for now is exclusive to CL at AKL the night one can be had by anyone but costs an arm and a leg, but for CL level guests it is a suibstantial discount - both are hard ticket events but still you can get them.

If you like to have a glass of wine or other spirits then that is available as well.

Also the CL level offers the IPO office at AKL - which is apparently the best in Disney - and they work hard to keep up that reputation. They can handle all your ADR's and hard ticket events - sometimes getting you in where other methods fail. ( not a guarantee!!).

And AKL has standardised all the CL non AKV level rooms to the 4th - floor in the better views - usually Arusha savannah - so if you get CL then you will get a decent view -some argue that the 3rd floor view is better. each to their own.

Plus there are a lot of other little things like a separate check in - some benefits with parking etc etc...a full list is avaialble in this site in various forums

If you don't care about free dining & the club level is what you want then I would go with what you want & book it. I would go with club level any day but this is just me, everyone has their own views

I have stayed at the AKL concierge level and it is amazing. Last year we did the AKL concierge and free dining and it was WAY too much food. It was overwhelming trying to enjoy the lounge breakfast ( our favorite) and then trying to eat two other meals. We were overloaded with eating opportunities. We made the pact that we would never combine concierge and a dining plan again, but would rather book concierge and buy a dining discount card and get the 20% off our meals that way. This would leave us more time to enjoy the lounge offerings and the parks etc.

They did the same think last year. We stayed Club at the AKL but could not get free dinning. We really wanted to do the Sunrise Safari again so we stayed with Club level. Unless you are staying Club to do one of the tours you might want to consider just staying in a regular savanna view room and getting the free dinning.
