Despite my best intentions, I failed miserable with my no-buy challenge.
I love the idea, and set a goal of 15 no-buy days. Why not? You guys make it look easy. But it's not, at least for me.
I had ZERO no-buy days. Every day, an expense would pop up. Some little, some not so little.
But this experience has led me to the conclusion that I can do this, I just need to tweak it to fit my life. Next month, I will be back!
I find this thread very inspiring. Because of this thread, I am going to set up monthly budgets for groceries and dining out/entertainment and my DH and I each have our own amount for discretionary spending (I say allowance, he says stipend). So for that, I thank you!
Welcome! You might have failed to hit your 15 no buy target, but you DID learn a good bit about how you spend, and you DID get inspired to make changes for next month. That's pretty good for your first month
