MissBritt! Holy cow on the pet meds! I hope the poor dog (cat?) is going to be alright.

That would blow my budget right out of the water. I understand tho. My brother spent over $1000 to have a rubber ball removed from his dogs stomach. Dog surgery is not cheap. And dogs have always been part of our family.

It's 12 months of heartworm prevention and flea/tick control for 2 mid/large breed dogs. We have had to spend thousands to treat heartworms and parasitic infections for these two, so we don't take chances anymore.

I'm a newbie here. I have to say that I've been lurking for a while and this thread has *really* helped me keep spending under control and set some goals. I'd like to have at least 10 $0/no-spend days in June.

My main goal is to put at least $125 in savings at the end of the month and write down what I spend each day. I know that it may seem like a :rotfl2: laughable amount...but I'm just coming out of a divorce and unemployment, re-entering the workforce...so it's what I can do :goodvibes Fortunately no credit card or mortgage debt...only debt is my remaining student loan.

(Wondering how you all are doing this...are you re-posting as the month goes on or simply posting once and going back to edit?)

I made this as a New Year's Resolution so after this month I will be half way to doinMy goal is to surpass my normal goal of 15 No Spend Days.

June 1-
$4.50 Kids bought lunch (We got in too late from vacation to grocery shop)
$1.08 Redbox
$20.00 Gas
$114.94 Groceries
$5 DD11's end of year class trip
June 2-$0
June 3-$0 Took the kids to 2 Walgreen's for Silly Bandz but that is all we got and they used their own money.
June 4- Was a $0 day till hubby came home with "free" baseball game tickets. I debated, but it was a beautiful night and free glove night for kids and the girls had friends going so we went. There went the $0 day. We spent just under $30on dinner and parking. I am quoting Suze Orman right now, "People first, then money, then things." It was a nice family evening out so worth losing the day.
June 5- Taco Bell-$14.59 Michael’s (Scout stuff, Father’s Day gifts and frames) $45.76, $15.63 Dairy Queen with GS troop, $17 (added DD8 to the sleepover, her troop hates sleepover so I will probably never get here there otherwise so her sister invited her) $4 sleepover patches, $10 ornament (I like to collect these when we go places)
June 6- $7.81 McD’s breakfast on the way home, Sam’s (groceries, gifts, clothes, shampoo, 5 bottles of sunscreen, etc) $191.99 (I’ll say the $91.99 was groceries, roughly,) Snack at Sam’s $3.43 Wegman’s groceries $154.68 (that is what I get for bringing DH) Amazon order (right around) $30, 2 CDs for DH for Father’s Day and some Disney Silly Bandz
June 7-$0 Technically I won $7 in Silly Bandz off eBay, but the kids are paying for them so my OOP was $0
June 8-$0 Spent the day cooking and filling my naked freezer. I froze about 15 dinners so far and more are in the crock pot overnight and will be frozen in the morning. I usually do this every 6-8 weeks but it all seemed to go really fast this time since we have had so many busy nights.
June 9-$0
June 10-$0
June 11- Streak Over. $3 bread and milk, $8 gummy spiders for DD11's Bronze Award presentation tomorrow, $34.98 gas, $5 (really $18 but we had $13 left on a gift card) lunch date with hubby <3 ,Walmart (pillows) $34 ish, have to find the receipt, $4 Silly Bandz (for a b-day gift, my kids have enough!) And finally $19 pizza night for the family.ETA- $72 Bon Jovi Tickets!!!! WooooooHooooo!!! I have wanted to see them for 20+ years. They have rarely come near where we ahve lived, in fact only once and DH was laid off so there was no way I was even going to mention it because I know my DH well enough to know he would have taken me anyway. Well we are going home where we grew up for a short vacation like we usually do and then the kids and I stay for a week extra and my DH comes home since he can't take much time off in summer. To get back home we meet half way (my grandparents drive half way and my DH drive half way so no one has to drive too far or stay overnight.) Well we realized yesterday that BonJovi will be in Cleveland (which is just about half way, a little further for DH) the day after we would have come home so we are staying an extra day and meeting in Clevelans Soooo, I FIANLLY AM GOING TO SEE BON JOVI!!! We are just sitting on the lawn, so that is why tickets are low. But that is good enough for me!!! I am so excited, just 30 days!!! Anyway, I had to add that to yesterday's spending since we bought the tickets last night. :)

I didn't see one started for June so I thought that I would get the ball rolling.

The rules are simple, you set the rules. The beauty of this challenge is that each person gets to set their own spending goals and choose how they would like to post their results. Most people choose to post their spending for each day on a daily basis, as well as keep a running total of the monthly spending. Some people break it into categories, while other people do not. You can also list exceptions to your spending, such as gift purchases or vacations. It is entirely up to you! A lot of people shoot for $0.00 days which is good, I know that I will put off buying something today to get a $0.00 day. This helps me combine errands and keeps me from making frequent stops at the store where I might make impulse purchases. Set up your goals that best suits you and than share them here.

So let's save! :thumbsup2

Yes! I agree. I want to save money for this month. I want to go in that place someday. I really saving money for this coming December so that I can purchase all I want in Bandwagon. :D

MickeyMomofThree, that is so cool that you get to go to see Bon Jovi. I had thought about getting tickets but I am already seeing Adam Lambert and have tickets to a few Indians games so I did not want to spend the extra cash. They are amazing live though. I saw their "Have a Nice Day" tour and it was spectacular.

It is early I know but I today is going to be a zero dollar day if it kills me.
