I've been reading these boards for the last couple weeks, but this is my first time posting. So, HI!

We're taking our boys (4 and 2.5) to WDW for the first time 11/27-12/3! We're all so excited!! We are currently going to be staying at Pop Century, with the FD plan (I upgraded from QS). After looking around here, and seeing how many people change their resorts for better deals, I thought I'd check and see if we were getting the best deal. So it turns out for $177 more we could stay at Coronado Springs, with the FD plan. That's a no brainer, right? I should call my TA and ask her to change? It looks nicer, I know my DH would be happier, but will my kids enjoy it as much? We don't really plan on being in the room all that much, but will take afternoon breaks. I LOVE the idea of queen beds instead of double too. I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance that I'm making the right decision. I've been researching Pop for so long, I kinda feel bad leaving!

One more thing, if/when I do change our resort, we would still keep all our ADR, right?

Thanks!!

CSR is a great resort. The pool is one of the best on property. There is play area next to the pool your kids will love. It also has a pool slide which pop does not. You will have more some of the same amenities as a deluxe resort such as a gym, spa and onsite ts restaurant. You will also have queen beds. I would do it. I'll admit I have never stayed in a value and have no desire to do so. I can't compare the two, but I do know I loved CSR, and I am deluxe person.

Thanks, I think I'm convinced.

Does anyone know if we can keep our current dining reservations if we switch. I think that's the deciding factor...

Yes you can. Your confirmation number will stay the same. Your dining reservations will never cancel unless you cancel them. If you cancel your resort resesrvation your ADR's will still be there. If you ever cancel or change dates just remember any ADR's that require a cc guarantee with cancellation fees will not cancel unless you can you cancel them. Have fun.

It's a no brainer to me! Have fun! :thumbsup2

ok so i'm a value person. 1. if your not using the property that much even thou its only 177(is that the whole increase for your complete stay) than its still a waiste of money as far as i'm concern when you could buy things @ the dis store with that money saved. 2. the rooms are basic but great @ pop you also get direct buses to the parks while some resorts share the buses. I feel that if your not using the resort enough than why pay the dif. just my thoughts coming from someone who has never stayed @more than a value resort.::yes::

For me, paying $177 extra is well worth going moderate for all the reasons already mentioned. The beds, resort theming, food court and pool at CSR are all FAR superior to POP.

We've stayed at every value (except AS Sports) and every mod (except POR, which we're visiting in Nov) and I can't see me ever going back to value when the cost of a mod is only slightly higher. Also, for what it's worth, CSR is my favorite resort so far. You'll love it.

Since you WILL be using the resort during the day, then I definitely think you would enjoy CSR more. I don't want to throw water on your hopes, but just remember that there is limited availability for FD at each of the resorts. If you can get it at CSR then that's great. I think you'll have a lovely time there. Oh, and the resort doesn't share buses with anyone else.

I'd switch! CSR is def worth it :) such a beautiful resort and the beds are so comfy

Personally I stayed ther last time I didn't like it much due to being so spread out. We did find bus stop close to room after day 3 s to as bad but rooms are all around big pond/lake. Pool was nice yet we never used it only park but no kids at that time. Never stayed at value, I hear it can b noisier so we went there food was good not great there. I think for the money I would upgrade but also check out por or pofq. Just my 2 cents. If not find good bus stop cause we had a very long hot walk to our room. There is golf cart path that can runu around yet alway faster to walk than wait for cart around lake. For us at least.

In 2010, we were going to do Pop and upgrade to regular DDP and when I priced it out, the difference between paying the upgrade and just switching to POFQ and getting the regular DDP automatically was less than $100. It was totally worth it.

Awesome! Thanks! I already emailed my TA :cool1:

Yes, that's $177 for the whole stay. And CSR has their own buses. :thumbsup2

I checked both POR and POFQ first but they aren't available. I think CSR would be better than CBR for us. :)

CSR is a great resort!

But some of teh buildings are a LONG hike (.48 mile) to/from the food court and refillable mugs. _I_ would seriously consider paying for a preferred room.
