no booked activities on Castaway Cay- what can I do?

We booked snorkeling. After snorkeling we rented a bike. No reservation, and no shortage of bikes, at least on our cruise. Just walk up.
My son's friend, male age 23, first time cruiser. He wants to try snorkeling. Is Castaway Cay the best place to try? We will be stopping in Nassau and they have snorkeling excursions there. What do you suggest?
Thanks so much!

So many times we would book activities on CC, only to have them cancelled when we arrived. Too windy, equipment not working, workers didn’t make it over from another island... So it is just a great day at the beach for us now.

As others have said, bike, snorkel, and float rentals are routinely available once on the island. Life jackets are required and provided when snorkeling - or if needed for swimming in the family beach.

Lunch / soda / soft-serve ice cream will be available for the family near the Family Beach (for adults-only at Serenity Bay across the island). Check the daily schedule for lunch hours - it is not open all day (closes around 1 pm or so).

You don’t need to bring beach towels from home - they are supplied as you get off the boat. Same thing goes at the pools on the boat.

Wear walkable shoes or flip flops. The tram is not right at the ship; it’s about 2 blocks away. But it does get you to the beach and shops.

Pelican Plunge - swim out to this slide.

Family Beach - lots of loungers and umbrellas - (edited - no) charge.

I’m guessing your saying run to get chairs and umbrellas because there is no charge for them.

I never run to get chairs there is enough to go around. Some don’t have umbrellas but we like to take the smaller chairs up to the waters edge to sit .

Haha. Just the opposite. This is not a Chair Hog scenario, like on Royal or Carnival pool decks. I don't think I have ever heard of anyone not getting loungers (I imagine it’s a possibility, but they have so many).

Now I see how a word got dropped out of my post - Charge! Instead of No Charge. Good catch.
