we are staying in a bunk bed room at the Park Vue, and i know the top bunk has rails but the bottom does not. my daughter would be ok without rails but my son absolutely needs them as he is an active sleeper and has only recently transitioned into a bed. is there a place to rent bedrails? cosleeping is not an option for me. i have tried it on many occasions but i dont sleep well when i am being kicked and smacked in the face all night by my active sleeper. plus it wouldnt solve the issue of him possibly rolling out of bed. help?

have you contacted the hotel to see if they have any rails that they can bring to your room?

This is what I did the last time I took my little one......
I had the staff give me 2 extra blankets. I then rolled them up and put them under the sheet so they could not move... hence the big bump. my little one stayed in place and slept very well. :)

I know they are not to much $ at toys r us , but not sure how close one is to the parks.

I loved the blanket 'bump' idea...
Here's another...
What about pushing a couple of chairs up next to the bed with the backs of the chairs creating your rail?:confused3

Ive done that to!!!
I also put lots of pillows on the floor before along with the bump in the bed. believe me if they went over the bump ( never did) hey had a save place to land

i did email them, and they didnt really answer my question. i will try again, but it sounds like they do not have them.

i like the blanket idea, that might work. and the chair idea is great, but im not sure there are chairs in the room. that would be the best option, if there are.

does anyone know if there is a place to rent baby equipment though? i know at WDW there are places where you can get cribs, toddler beds, bed rails, etc. nothing like that for DLR?

We always push the chairs up against the beds when we are in a hotel - closer to the top. Sometimes there are footstools with the chairs - those work... most rooms will have at least one chair for the desk area...

If you have tall suitcases, you can also put those up next to the bed...

Extra pillows and blankets. Like the above posters said. I have done this and it works great. :goodvibes

They have inflatable portable bed rails.

I just located these inflatable bed rails on Target.com...
Since they inflate, it might be worth it to purchase ahead of time and stick in your suitcase to insure you have something if you worried about that...
You can also try them out ahead of time and return them if you're not happy.:thumbsup2

Great minds think alike....ha
Guess we were posting at the same time
although I must give you the ...your post looked far nicer than mine!

:rotfl:

Great Minds DO think alike!!! :thumbsup2

Seriously, I would save the money and use the blankets. they really do work well. nothing to pack just ask the hotel to give you extra blankets for the beds.
on a side note......
When ever we go to the motel, I always tell the front desk to leave a new set of sheets and blankets and bedspreads in our room. I know being a maid when I was young, that those bedspreads are not clean, and used for many guests. off goes the bedding in our room the minute we get in.
I once found a sheet with marks on it and knew they were not changed  this from a 3 star hotel. Nope I always get extra bedding.

ooh! those are awesome! thanks!!

I am not sure I would trust these. What if they deflate, and then he could get entangled in them. WHat keeps them in place? '

How big is your little guy?Could he fit into a playpen to sleep. I used mine at hotels until they couldn't fit into them anymore. You can usually rent them at hotels too. I hope you find a good solution for you.

roll up a blanket or towel and put it UNDER the sheet on each side of the bed. Quick and works and free.

Nora

thanks everyone. i thought about the inflatable ones but decided to save the money and use blankets. dumb question: i put them under the fitted sheet?
