I have been watching our Blockbuster for Beauty and The Beast, but it is NEVER there. Finally, I asked and the sales associate looked it up for me. Checked out and never returned - she said that happens a lot. The movies are out of production and very expensive to aquire on Ebay, so people just keep them and pay the Blockbuster cost. It made me so sad. It just seems kind of greedy to me! I was wondering why I could never find The Little Mermaid before this fall - now I know! Sigh. DH has a lot of people in his department with kids - I'm sure somebody has a copy of Beauty and The Beast we can borrow ... But, grrr!!! Lesson learned - I am buying the Disney releases as they come out and before they head back to the dreaded vault.

I have kinda-sorta run into the same problem with Netflix. My Dd has been "into" the princess movies like Sleeping Beauty & The Little Mermaid and has been asking to watch Snow White. I went to go put it in my queue at Netflix and got the message that the movie has been Saved and the release date is unknown. I haven't searched anywhere to see if a special edition release is slated soon, so maybe that is what they are waiting on. :confused3

Side-note: DD's fav princess is Snow White but she has never watched the film!! Go figure that one out!:rotfl:

You might try your local library's kid section for disney movies. I stopped renting dvd's and videos for my daughter a while ago when I discovered my library carries all the new disney dvd releases and many of the videos.

My local blockbuster told me the same thing. I can believe it. Have you seen the prices of B&B on ebay? Outrageous! I decided if there is a movie that DD2 would enjoy in the future, I'm buying it when it's released. I bought several Cinderella movies when they first came out for $15.99 at Walmart and I'm storing them for future sale on ebay. I'm sure in 10 years, some little girl will be begging for Cinderella and I'll be selling it on ebay.

Yes, unfortunately, our library has been picked clean of the good ones as well. :sad2:

Yes! Those prices are incredible - ebay was my first stop when I couldn't find it - no way am I paying that for a movie! I read somewhere that B&B is supposed to be released again in '09 or somthing.
