Hi Guys,

Just back, Jan 25-Feb 2. A truly magical trip! Me (50) . . I can't believe I am sharing that!, Sister (49), son (23), son's girlfriend (24)

We were in a two Bedroom at Boardwalk. Asked for Boardwalk View, got Tower of Terror View which was just fine. The Boardwalk was very nice, the staff bent over backwards for us, but I can honestly say I prefer Old Key West. However, my son just loved the place and wants to stay there again. I discovered upon check in that I had left my wallet full of money in the car that was valet parked. Panicked, I was whisked away by the valet personnel to my vehicle where I found my wallet untouched. I will be emailing Disney to praise their honest employees.

The highlights were
1. No lines at all
2. The weather was PERFECT ( not too hot, not too cold)
3. Every ride was operating
4. My sister got in the hot seat!
5. My son scored 999,999 TWICE on Buzz
6. Had lunch at the castle which was wonderful
7. Saw tinkerbell three times this trip
8. My son and his girlfriend enjoyed the Cirque du Soleiu (sp?) event
9. Enjoyed wonderful food and were able to "walk off" some of the calories
10. Ventured over to Universal one day and finally was brave enough to do the Hulk. Discovered I don't mind being turned upside down afterall.
11. Saw a lime green ribbon on a man's backpack. I asked him if he was a member of the Dis. He looked at me like I was crazy! lol
12. Toured the BeachClub Villas. Very nice. We are considering an add on, but I really would like to see what Saratoga Springs will be like. We love the area next to Downtown Disney.

The lowlights:

1. We had to leave
2. The parks were empty, really! But, we had to stand on busses on several occasions.
3. On Saturday, we were just about to ride Rockin Rollercoaster. It was a little after 9, so I told my son that I would wait outside as I wanted to see the shuttle pass over. Thought I could get a picture. Well, you know the rest of the story. Such a tragedy.

Well, the most painful part of the trip still ahead. Unpack and laundry! But, I will say, it was worth every bit of it! We truly had a magical time. Spending time with my son and sister was great!
Already planning our next trip.

You all had a nice trip - glad the weather cooperated and you were able to do everything you wanted - now to start planning the next trip - thanks for posting!

MsMouse - thanks for the report - I'm planning a Jan trip next year to celebrate my 50th - taking all the kids and staying at BWV 2 bedroom - have stayed there last 2 trips and my teenage DS loves it - know the older kids will, too. Had to laugh about the Hulk - I, too, went on first time last August - have always been convinced that I could not go on upside-down coasters, but DS asked me to challenge myself and, since he has had a year of rising to many personal challenges, I could not turn him down - I loved it !!! Now I am a 'coaster convert' and can't wait to get back to IOA next year ! - Where did you see Tink? That would be a first for me, aside from the fireworks lighting.

bjakmom,

I was talking about tink flying out of the castle just before the fireworks. We love that moment. January is a great time to go. We have been for the past two years at that time and have been very lucky on the weather. The location of the boardwalk is great, so many choices when it comes to transportation. Have you ever had a boardwalk view??? It was one of my requests. I requested non-smoking, boardwalk veiw, and one of the upper floors. Got 2 of the three requests. No boardwalk view. But, like I said, my son enjoyed the fact that he could lie in his bed and see the tower of terror. We were on the fifth floor, room 5087 and 5089. Enjoy the Hulk next year. Have you mastered Dueling Dragons. I was going to attempt it, but alas, it was down for rehab. Maybe next year.

msmouse,
Yes, we had Boardwalk view in Nov. 2000 - we were there for the land part of the cruise and should have been booked in standard, but I faxed a request and when we got to our room (right over the bakery area) even the bellman said, "wow, how did you get this room with the cruise package?!". Last august DS and I had a standard view on the 2nd floor overlooking the front entrance- not a great view, but we were rarely in the room - next year I will request a boardwalk view and hope for the best.- we really enjoyed watching DS from the balcony as he explored the boardwalk on his own (when he was 11) - now they're all old enough to go out on their own- it was also fun to watch the performers on the weekend nights. Yes, I did both sides of Dueling Dragons - in rapid succession - I actually loved going upside down without any floor beneath me more than the Hulk ! - then my brain gave out on me (a little too much pressure) and I was done coasters for that day - but what fun - be sure and give it a try - no one could have ever convinced me that I would survive - let alone enjoy it - go figure!! (more often than not the challenges my kids are given in life turn out to be lessons for me, too):smooth:
