No 7 nighters next summer - What are we to Do?

We just returned from the 4 night Wonder cruise. It was a glorious and heavenly trip for us 1st timers. We never wanted to return, thought it was too short and came home ready to sign up for the 7 night cruise next summer. AAAAAAAHHHHHHH! There are no 7 nighters next summer. The Mediterranean is out of the question because of cost.

Are there any other 7-10 night cruises out there on other lines that wouldn't be too much of a disappointment now that we have sailed on and LOVED the Disney cruise? We are looking for Caribbean, Mexican Rivera, Hawaii. With two teenagers, the kids programs are not so much of a consideration, but we want family atmosphere with lots of fun activities. Has anyone done anything they could recommend? Thanks!

We faced the same dilemma for Summer '07, especially since it was either to be 2007 or not until 2009, based on our future travel plans. What we did to get around the absence of 7-day cruises for next summer was to reserve back-to-back 4-night and 3-night cruises on the Wonder for August. Our TA linked the reservations, and we have the same stateroom for each leg. I've also read that guests doing consecutive cruises can stay on board so long as they're US citizens, but I still need to confirm this formally with DCL. A Disboards search on the phrase "back-to-back" will give you lots of info on this option.

If you are interested in seeing lots of different ports, this might not be the way to go, but in our case getting to Castaway Cay twice in one week more than makes up for this.

My response addressed the original poster's inquiry: what to do with no 7-night cruises available during the summer of 2007. Your 7-night cruise next year must be sailing during one of the non-summer months.

You can always book on another cruiseline, there are several options for seven nights in the Caribbean. Some are actually quite affordable.

Gosh, I had never thought about taking back-to-back cruises. I wish I could spend the whole week at Castaway Cay!
