NJ Transit riders...

It looks like fares are going to be going up in the summer. there was a sign for a public hearing on it to discuss a 9.9% increase in train fares (didn't look at light rail or bus fares) but now my monthly train ticket to NY will be approaching $275!

Saw that on the news this morning. They were using the Trenton to NY route as an example..no idea why they picked that route.

DH's ticket is currently $301. It's probably worth looking into the express bus service at this point.

They have those fancy schmancy double decker trains while the North jersey coast is stuck the pre-historic models where we have to use our legs to move it like the Flintstones.

Ouch... although it doesn't really phase me. Most people who work in New York City make extra money anyway, and you're still spending about 10 dollars a day to get to work. Considering daily passes are at 9 dollars a day, this makes a little bit of sense...

I'd have to drive to get to the bus depot and I can walk to the train station. And the train seems safer on days like this.

At first I was reading this and thought "Oh wow, it's for security? Well that's okay!" and then I finished reading and "oh she is too much!!"

That's terrible.
My boss takes NJ Transit at least once a week he's late for problems.
You all should be getting a rebate instead!

I take LIRR and have no way near the problems NJ Transit has.

I moved to NJ to save the $200+ a month on the LIRR. Luckily I take the path most days. 9.9% is a big increase though
