NJ/NY folks, have you ever heard of COLD Taylor ham?

I was in NY several years ago and we went to a deli near Sotheby's and ordered pork roll and cheese. The guy asked if we wanted lettuce, tomato & mayo on it and we were like, um, no...ketchup.

Yup, it was cold. That was quite possibly the nastiest thing I attempted to eat. I couldn't get past the idea that it was supposed to be cooked and HOT!

I have never seen it this way and since it looks quite gross cold I can't imagine anyone LIKING it this way...but when I ordered a TH sandwich at a deli in NYC today the guy handed it to me COLD. I said, "This isn't cooked" and he said, "You didn't ask for it cooked." I said, " I didn't know you COULD eat it cold." :rotfl:

I've never heard of that!

I also meant to say that I missed this thread the first time around. It just came up as a similar thread at the bottom of one I was reading. I don't normally drag up old stuff!
