We were just there with a bunch of my "guy" buddies in Jan. We hit Disney's Pleasure Island on Sat evening. Started out at House of Blues (Downtown Disney) watching a band, then wandered over to DTD Pleasure Island (walking distance). Pleasure Island has bars / clubs / etc for all ages and tastes. Adventurer's Club was a very cool experience. We also went into Raglan Road, which is a large Irish Pub kind of place, there was an Irish Fiddler band playing, and girls on the bars / tabletops doing Irish dancing, it was a loud, boisterous, fun kind of place, but not what we had envisioned when we first thought of hitting PI. PI is neat just to walk around even if you don't buy the pass to get into the various bars (you don't need to pass to get into Raglan Road). There's a DJ playing in a booth at the top of the street...and there were break dancers in the streets and crowds of people watching them, it was pretty cool. Of course there's a variety of "club" type dance clubs and such too, but there's really something there for everyone. The neat thing...if you pay the cover charge... you can get into all of the places.
DTD and PI are a very fun, happening place in the evenings. You can go to DTD for dinner at a restaurant, go to HOB and/or PI and have some fun, and there's tons of cabs there lined up to take you home so no worries about driving if you're drinking and having a good time, I highly recommend it! It's a night out done up Disney style (top notch entertainment!).
Here's a picture of the band at Raglan Road playing:
Their current promotion at Pleasure Island? "You can get some sleep in July!" hehe
(Picture of my friend from our last trip...we found this hilarious, cause we had one friend that wouldn't go out with us and spent all weekend at home sleeping!)
