1 Tablespoon ground water chestnuts
1 Tablespoon ground onion
5 oz ground shrimp
1 egg, beaten
8 slices sourdough bread
vegetable oil
Mix together ground water chestnuts, onions, shrimp and beaten egg.
Heat oil to 350 degrees F.
Trim of crust from 8 sourdough bread slices; spread evenly with shrimp mixture. Roll bread slices and secure with toothpicks.
Deep-fry rolled bread in hot oil until lightly browned. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
