Nikon 10-24 in FX (full frame) mode?

Maybe a long shot but does anyone have any experiences/examples with using the 10-24 in FX (full frame) mode such as on a D700?

I hope to see that the 10-24 will be a good choice for now as a wide angle option for my D700 from about 18 to 24.

Either that or maybe I will go with the 18-35 which is a FF lens.
