Nikki and Tom take on F&W and MNSSHP-Take 2! LINK TO TR pg. 55

I so understand about the strong wind during Irene. We had some. And since I now live on the south shore of montreal, we are close to water. So a few trees had fallen, but not too much flood damages.

Ok, all caught up :) Plans sound great, not long to go now :)

Nikki- Technically because kids don't have picture ID's it says they are required for airlines as identification. I've never have anyone actually ask me for it, but I have to make sure I take it just in case because it also shows that I am Jack's only parent, so I don't have to worry about having forms signed by his father allowing me to take him out of the country or whatever.

Hope- I always pack his birth cert and then I forget it's packed in a binder or something until I need it for the next trip, lol. Once I put it in a magazine to keep it from getting folded or wrinkled, and forgot I put it there for about 6 months. Luckily I save my magazines!! Now that you mention it, I think it might still be in my cruise binder from May! When I got his birth certificate, my mom told me to go ahead and get 2 official copies, since they are so hard to get after the fact. Best advice EVER! Now they keep one in their files and I keep one.

Good to know! I told my sister that info and she said that for Continental, as long as they have their own seat and are under 18, they don't need ID. If I was her, I would bring it just to be sure but she's not going to!

Now that you mentioned pretzel bread, I'm super glad we have ADRs at Beirgarten now!!!

You're right about being able to see and smell what you're ordering. I'm not a picky eater at all, but I absolutely hate it when I got to a restaurant that I've never been to (and may not got to again) and order what looks like a yummy meal.... only to have something show up that was not what I imagined. :sad2:

That's one of the best things about the DIS though, you get all sorts of great tips!

Yes exactly. I won't try new things at a restaurant unless someone I'm with has it. Once I find something I like, I order the same thing every time I go to any given place!

YES! The food porn thread has helped TREMENDOUSLY with my picky eater problem. :lmao:

I'm so jealous - you can leave at 6pm from your hometown and get to Disney for EMH??? That's the benefit of living on the east coast! Hope school started off well for you!

Haha! Well technically the flight is as 6:20 and lands at 9:13 BUT I've timed it from take of to touch down and it was just about 2 hours...so hopefully if it takes off one time, we should be there early. But with later flights, there's more of a chance for delay.

ok you're almost leaving and I haven'T been here in a while.

Gonna read it all tonight! ;)

I am getting excited about your trip and I'm not even going. lol Makes no sense lol

:)

It was scary!

11 days!! Can you even believe it?!

So the only day I haven't shared plans for yet is our last day, Sunday. By then, my family will be gone and Gary and Erin have a semi-early flight (although I think they'll get in some park time).

Our flight isn't until around 7:30 so that means we have a lot of time to enjoy the parks that day.

Anyone want to guess where Tom and I will be that day?? ;)

Gary and Erin are coming over tomorrow for final planning and just general excited chatter about the trip. It is so hard to believe that it's finally here. That's the funny thing about time....no matter how far away something is, it always gets here eventually! We have been counting down together since over 300 days and now it's practically here. Unbelievable.

So as her travel agent (YAY!) I've got some paper work for her (ME tags, docs from Disney) and a few extra surprises from me and the agency! I'm so excited to give it all to her. I'll post pics of it all tomorrow after they leave.

Erin is checking in two days before us so she was able to do online check-in yesterday. I'm going to hold off one doing on-line check in because a) we're getting there pretty late at night so I don't anticipate the check-in line being too long and b) I want to make sure that if we weren't put in connecting rooms with Gary and Erin that we can at least be in the same building so I'd rather not have my room assigned to me in advance.

I started a little packing today and I have a ridiculous amount of gift card. Seriously, I have 17. Some are only $10, $15...most are $25 but there are some $50, $100 and even those three that I ordered to pay for the resort and our APs that are so valuable, they are the max amount allowed on a Disney gift card! So I think we're set with that. (Thanks Mom for always getting me Disney gift cards for every occasion!)

I also came to the realization tonight that since we are not checking a bag, I have to be sure all my toiletries are regulation size! Totally didn't think of that! The travel size body wash I already had is fine but the shampoo and conditioner is now so I'll have to put that on my shopping list. How about deodorant? Is that something that has to be a certain size and go in the plastic bag??

Okay, I better stop because I'll just keep rambling!! I'm just so excited!

I just pulled out of my work clothes 9 hotel keys.....

hhmmmmmmmmmmm.....

NOW I don't feel as bad:laughing:.

hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy girl!! The adventure is almost upon you:woohoo:.

Have fun and enjoy!!

You are SO right about time... no matter how far in advance we plan trips... they arrive eventually - and thank goodness!!! :rotfl: I cannot believe it's almost here... I remember when your ticker was practically a year out! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

I travel quite a bit for work and typically only take a carry on bag. Anything that is a liquid or gel must be in a quart size ziploc and be 3 oz or less. That includes lip gloss! But lipstick and deodorant are solids (or close enough) so they can be in your regular toiletry bag. Make sure you are only bringing liquids/gels that you must have. If you can make do with the hotel soap, do that.

It is very hard for me to get all the bottles in the ziploc so I get lots of 'samples' throughout the year and use those (like face cleaner or lotion in those flat foil/paper packages). I get these from walmart.com samples page or direct from the manufacturers (like loreal or garnier). Or Sephora will give you anything in their store that they can sample. They give you these tiny little samples that are perfect for 3 or 4 uses. And anytime I am at a cosmetics counter - whether I buy something or not - I always ask for a sample (just be specific like you are looking for a good face lotion).

Well, you probably knew all that but just in case, there you go! Good luck on the packing too. I bring lots of throw away things - not only toiletries but old tshirts as PJs or old undies and stuff. That way, I free up my suitcase for souvenirs!!

Wow - your trip got here fast!!!! I cannot wait to hear all about it. The Food and Wine Festival is definitely on my "someday" list!

I am sure I did not tell you about this, but in July - we were invited to sit down on the dock where they launch Illuminations from to watch the show......Kyle waved at the pyrotechnic guys who ride around in the boats before the show setting up........he called Kyle over and invited him and his family to the special viewing site. They do they whenever they can, so if you are in Epcot - wave to the guys.......maybe you will luck out too. It was an awesome view! Turns out, the one guy was from PA and went to Clarion University (where Ashley just got accepted)........its a small world after all.......................

So exciting it's almost here! Of course a little sad for me, because I'd almost be leaving as well! haha I can't wait to see what they have planned for the 40th!

ahhh, 11 days, just in time for me to stop living vicariously through Hope, and start FB stalking you for updates :goodvibes

Doing a "it's almost time" happy dance with you!:banana::banana::banana:

Thank you! That was some great info. So I won't worry about deodorant. Tom and I will each have a carry-on so I'm assuming we can each have a quart-sized ziplock bag if it doesn't all fit into one.

I'm very excited to see what's planned for the 40th too....

ahhh, 11 days, just in time for me to stop living vicariously through Hope, and start FB stalking you for updates :goodvibes

Unfortunately, I do not have a smart phone so I will just be MIA for a few days with no updates! Although, my sister and sister-in-law both do so maybe they'll tag me in some pics and that will serve as updates for my FB friends! :goodvibes

A bit of news....

Gary and Erin came over today for some final planning and for me to give them their docs and some extra stuff from me (since I am their TA now!) and it was so much fun! We also decided that, just to be safe, we would spend all of Saturday, October 1 in the Magic Kingdom! So we canceled our Biergarten ADR and got a late lunch at Tony's in it's place. I am very relieved that we will be there. I would hate to miss something they might do for the 40th!

BTW, guess who's going to be doing the single digit dance tonight???

OH and we decided on a costume. As of Wednesday, we were going to be Mario and Luigi. Well my Luigi costume fit great but Tom's Mario did NOT! So we returned it and went from store to store to try to find him the larger size, which we did not. Plus, we imagine that even if we did find the larger size, it would still be too small SOoooooooooo we changed our minds and are now going as Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head!!

I'm actually happier with those anyway, as they will be more comfortable AND it's Disney!

YAY!

Oooh, I love the Mr and Mrs Potato Head costume idea. Can't wait to see how it all turns out!

How are you enjoying being a Disney travel agent so far? I'm going to be helping a friend plan a trip to Disney soon and I'm so excited! I'm thinking I would love to be a travel agent. Don't think I've gone to Disney often enough yet though.

I can't wait either. I don't know how I m going to make it through another week and a half of school. I packed more of my suitcase today. I think you are making the right decision about October 1. I know I a, going to be so sad if they do something totally awesome but with such a short trip we didn't do PH this time and the first is our Epcot day. Oh well! I hope I don't feel sad later, but for now I am happy with our choice. Great choice with Mr. And Mrs. potato head. My husband doesn't want to dress up so just the kids are wearing actual costumes and we are just wearing Halloween type shirts. Can't wait! Enjoy your week at school. Not too much longer now!

I'm excited for you too!! Can't wait to see you in your Potato costumes!! :goodvibes

Oh wow, that's adorable! I saw some PotatoHead costumes at Target today! I can't wait to see pics, Jack loves the Mr. and Mrs.!

I am LOVING being a Disney TA! I'm having so much fun creating itineraries and helping people with their trips!

Right?! The suspense is the worst and the best at the same time! Haha!! I hear you about being in Epcot all day. It's got to be all or nothing we just had to be there all day! But we had to make a similar decision when we went for the 4th of July last year. We decided to skip the MK altogether.

I'm excited for you too!! Can't wait to see you in your Potato costumes!! :goodvibes

Yay!! Hopefully, it will be awesome!

Yes! Those are the ones! We just saw them there last night. But they only had extra large and even the online Target store only had extra large so I ended up ordering them from Party City because they only had the large which was better. Ended up being a little more money but we tried on the ones in Target and they were just HUGE! I'm soooo excited about it!

Single digits...yeha!

Mr and Mrs Potato head sounds so cool! I love when she packs Mr Potato's head up with all his necessities:laughing:, not even sure what movie thats from...
