Nikki and Tom take on F&W and MNSSHP-Take 2! LINK TO TR pg. 55

Woo Hoo! If your trip is this month, that means mine is next month!!!! I'm sure you will be plenty prepared!

I know how you feel. We started this past week, but I am so nervous that I will never get ready for Disney. I have no idea when to pack especially since the kids don't know we are going. I still have to buy my son a costume too. So much to do!

I still have to buy a costume too! Ahh!!

It's true that ti will be hard to find the time (or energy!) to pack once school starts, but since you're a Disney pro, I'm sure it'll all come together. :)

It will...it always does. I'm sure packing will be a nice break from the school mindset!

Happy trip month!!! :goodvibes

Thanks!!

YAY!!! I am so jealous you are going. Don't worry. You will find time to pack. I always love to pack for Disney.

It really is so much fun! I always put on music try on potential outfits and plan what I'm going to wear each day and night!

It's almost time!!!! :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

I can't believe it!

I am so excited you are going THIS month! I can totally understand why you would be worried about getting ready since you're starting school again on Tuesday, but I am sure it will all come together. I'm so excited for you!

Thanks! I know it will come together. I always said when school starts again, that means Disney is so soon!!

Too cool that you get to run through a park. Definitely enough incentive!!!

:banana::banana::banana:

Oh definitely!

YIPPEEEEE!!!! It's almost here!! It is the only thing that makes the end of summer ok- we are that much closer to another Disney trip! :goodvibes

We are going for Teachers convention- but only 5 nights this year- :sad2: Too much homework missed for a Freshman and 7th grader, I think, if we went for longer (we really paid the price last year taking a full week). But, NEXT year- watch out!! Presidential Election means they'll only miss 2 days if we go for 10 nights! :woohoo:

Oh I have friends going that week. They are actually driving because airfare is so crazy...there's 7 of them! Can not BELIEVE Tyler is going to be in high school!

Woo Hoo! If your trip is this month, that means mine is next month!!!! I'm sure you will be plenty prepared!

Haha!! Yay!! Of course I'll be more than prepared by the time we go! But that's what us crazy planners do! We freak out that it's not going to get done and then we do more than the normal person would!

Day 4 ~ Saturday, October 1

So to recap:
Wednesday - Work all day, 6:30 flight, arrive around 9. Maybe Epcot EMH.

Thursday - DHS for cupcakes and rides, Epcot afternoon, meet with my family, Taylor Dayne concert, dinner at Beirgarten, Illuminations.

Friday - Epcot Future World in the morning, Food and Wine for lunch, 'Ohana dinner, MNSSHP

That brings us to Saturday. Now this day is tricky because it happens to be the 40th anniversary of Walt Disney World. I am sooooo psyched to be there for that but as of now, there are NO official happenings at the MK! WTH? So I sort of have to keep this day open just in case they announce something.

So the morning starts with, what would have been a 5:45 bus ride but since we have the car, Erin and I will probably leave closer to 9:15 to....

When I first decided on the race, I thought it would be in the MK. It was last year and I was very disappointed when they announced it was in the AK this year. But I got over it quickly and still think it'll be cool to "run" through the park. Especially since *gasp* I don't think we can fit Animal Kingdom into our plans at all! I am really upset about this because I love AK but with such a short trip and so much to do, there just isn't time!! Maybe though...we'll see!

And just for fun, this is what Animal Kingdom might look like in the middle of July when a Brazilian tour group is there!

So anyway, the race officially starts at 7am and I'm sure we'll be on our way back to POR by 8am, after taking LOTS of pics along the way OF COURSE! I actually had some practice running with my camera in hand the other day when I took those pics of the trees down in the park I usually run at!

So back to POR to get the boys up and ready! Now this is where there is a little confusion. If there are no 40th MK plans, Tom and I might go to AK for a few hour that morning. Hopefully, we'll begin with a frozen capuccino from the Royal Anadapur Tea Co. while we listen to the monkeys screaming...

ry%3D400

Then maybe a ride or two...

Then it's back to Epcot!

Gary really wanted to go to the Beirgarten with his brother (Tom) so even though with only 4 full days to have sit-down meals, we are eating here twice...
ry%3D400

I am sure we will be having PLENTY of these!
ry%3D400

So that will be at 2, which I like because we pay out of pocket and lunch is cheaper! :thumbsup2

Then after, perhaps will be enjoy a little....

ry%3D400

Love them!

Again, depending on what's going on at the MK that day, we might just go to Epcot for lunch and go right back to the MK.

At some point after we've had enough drinks and Off Kilter, we'll head over to the MK (whether they are doing something for the 40th or not).

I am dying to see the Music, Memories and You show (or is it Magic Memories and You?) on the castle and I definitely want to catch MSEP and Wishes! I'm thinking a nice counter service for dinner...Pecos Bill perhaps? The rest of the evening will be spent at MK doing whatever we missed the night before at MNSSHP and the other nighttime activities I just mentioned.

:)

Then there's only one more day...... booo!!

That is one busy day! I am tired just thinking about it. Day 4 is our all day Epcot day. We love Epcot and the kids have found new loves here on our past trip so.....a full day for us it will be. I am sure by the afternoon I will have been on Test Track 12 times with my son and Soarin' at least 5. Lol.

I found another Halloween t-shirt at Target today. Now I just have to decide which one to wear to the party. No full blown costume for me. Still searching for a costume for my DS.

Your plans look super fun though. :cool1::cool1:

Sounds awesome!!! I really want to do a Disney run sometime. It sounds like so much fun!

All your plans sound great!

I really hope they do something to celebrate the 40th anniversary. That would be weird and such an opportunity wasted if they didn't. :confused3

Sounds like a great day you have planned Nikki! I'd love to do a Disney race one day:goodvibes .. and being there for the 40th, wow! I hope Disney does something, even if it's just a small dedication in the Magic Kingdom? I think there's a lot of fan events planned (WDW Radio etc) anyway.

Hope you're having a nice long weekend!

You are going to be one busy girl! But you are going to have a blast!!!!! ;)

Haha! I know! I told you....every single day is jam packed! We still haven't decided on a costume. Gary Erin and Conor are going as different candies but Tom, for some reason, want ALL or nothing at all and by that I mean he wasn't to go ALL OUT, which just isn't practical in the MK, especially with dinner at 'Ohana just before it. We'll see...I have to decide soon!

Yeah, it seems very odd that there is nothing planned as of yet...

Yeah I really hope they do something too. Yes, I heard about the 40 hours for the 40th that Lou is doing. CRAZY! I'm sure I'll run into him at Food and Wine! Ha!

You are going to be one busy girl! But you are going to have a blast!!!!! ;)

So busy! It's going to be madness! :lmao:

Hope your first day back to school was a good one! :goodvibes

Thanks! I'm sooooooo tired!

Hi Nikki!

I'm leaving this post as a sort of book mark as I'm only on pg 39! and I must've skipped over it but you've got facebook! yay!

Have been reading about your new camera, the photos are absolutely amazing with it! so cool you got o go to a dismeet, I went to my first ever dismeet on Sunday and got to meet some of the podcast team, I was super excited!

we had breakfast in stardust diner when we were in NYC, one of the highlights of our trip!

Will hopefully get fully caught up tomorrow and catch up on your trip planning...

holy cow, i am so behind! lol

so glad you guys made it out of the storm safely, but so sad to see all damage!

So back to your plans....
so butterfinger cupcake- hello lover! :rotfl::lovestruc I have to agree on LMA stunt show- i just laughed when you posted you have no interest in seeing cars purposely crash etc. :lmao: I've been forced to watch it twice and have zero interest in it.

so question for you- i've never done Biergarten. I am a picky eater, i.e. not a lot of veggies/salad etc. But I do love me some meat and potatoes. I know there is a lot of meat/sausages here. But how exotic is it? I keep hesitating in trying it since i'm so picky! lol- i don't even like onions or lettuce !

Friday plans look great too- love Ohana! and I adore your MNSSHP pics- i am so darn excited to see all of that in person. I am most excited about the parade!

HOpefully you have great weather for the race and can enjoy a little time at AK after!

Can't wait to see the rest of all the plans!

Okay so Beirgarten. I am seriously the pickiest eater in the world! Seriously, I am always the one that people have to make sure there's something that I can eat when they invite me over. I've been known to bring my own hot dogs to BBQs because I'm even picky about brands! I don't eat ANY kind of fish and cried once when someone accidentally spilled shrimp juice on me. I won't eat sandwiches off of a sandwich tray because I JUST started eating sandwiches a few years ago and am very particular about what's inside....

I could go on and on but I just want to get across how picky I really am. What I like about the Beirgarten is that it's a buffet so I don't have to blindly order something, I can SEE what it looks like. (I have such a problem ordering off a menu if I don't know what something looks like, I can't go by the description alone. A lot of times, I even have to SMELL it as well as see it to know if I"m going to like it or not! :lmao:) Anyway, there is definitely enough to pick at for people like us! They used to have chicken shnitzle, which basically is breaded chicken. There's also the pretzel bread, which is so good and there's macaroni and potato that is good.

So basically, there's a lot that I won't eat but there's enough that I will and it's worth it for the atmosphere and entertainment! :thumbsup2

All of your plans sound great, Nikki!!!! :thumbsup2

The race sounds soooo exciting!!! I can't wait to hear all about it!

Don't feel bad about not making lists or buying things yet! I *thought* that I was completely done and then realized that I have sooo much more to do! For instance, I have to try to find Luke's birth certificate! I completely forgot that I needed to take it with us! Oops!

I also wanted to go through the suitcases this morning/afternoon but other things just got in the way. I have to get things done asap because I have a super busy weekend -- starting Friday afternoon & going all the way through Monday afternoon! Yikes!!! And tomorrow I'm going to the store to find my nephew a birthday gift so it looks like I better look through the suitcases tonight! Luke did remind me last night to bring his bubble bath so we now have 2 small bottles of that. I wonder what else I'm forgetting....:confused3

And just in case anyone needs to know, if you take 5 small cans of pineapple, a 6 pack of applesauce, and 3 cans of mixed fruit -- it weighs 8.5 pounds! I have to divide it up between the suitcases now that I know it weighs so much! LOL! Which reminds me that I need to buy one of those little suitcase scales at Target tomorrow!

Haha! Hope that is so funny! Al those canned good that you're taking with you! :lmao: Why do you need to bring Luke's birth cert?

Nikki- Technically because kids don't have picture ID's it says they are required for airlines as identification. I've never have anyone actually ask me for it, but I have to make sure I take it just in case because it also shows that I am Jack's only parent, so I don't have to worry about having forms signed by his father allowing me to take him out of the country or whatever.

Hope- I always pack his birth cert and then I forget it's packed in a binder or something until I need it for the next trip, lol. Once I put it in a magazine to keep it from getting folded or wrinkled, and forgot I put it there for about 6 months. Luckily I save my magazines!! Now that you mention it, I think it might still be in my cruise binder from May! When I got his birth certificate, my mom told me to go ahead and get 2 official copies, since they are so hard to get after the fact. Best advice EVER! Now they keep one in their files and I keep one.

Now that you mentioned pretzel bread, I'm super glad we have ADRs at Beirgarten now!!!

You're right about being able to see and smell what you're ordering. I'm not a picky eater at all, but I absolutely hate it when I got to a restaurant that I've never been to (and may not got to again) and order what looks like a yummy meal.... only to have something show up that was not what I imagined. :sad2:

That's one of the best things about the DIS though, you get all sorts of great tips!

I'm so jealous - you can leave at 6pm from your hometown and get to Disney for EMH??? That's the benefit of living on the east coast! Hope school started off well for you!

ok you're almost leaving and I haven'T been here in a while.

Gonna read it all tonight! ;)

I am getting excited about your trip and I'm not even going. lol Makes no sense lol
