Nikki and Tom take on F&W and MNSSHP-Take 2! LINK TO TR pg. 55

Well, it is a long way for us. We live in Iowa. Right smack dab in the middle of the country. So, when we were out there we rode a charter bus, ughhhhh. It was around a 24 hour drive. As we left NYC at 4:00 pm and got home the next day around 5:00. But that included lots of rest stops and food breaks.

As for Wicked, I have never read the book but would love to. Seeing it though, really put a different spin on the thinking of the Wizard of Oz. The singing was just outstanding. Me and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to see many more theater productions.

Wow, that's a crazy long drive for a Broadway show!

Your trip into NY looks like a lot of fun and your new camera is awesome. I am still trying to catch up after being away so much this summer. Your pictures with your new camera look great though. I can't wait to invest in a better camera.

I don't think you've missed much! Haven't really had anything to update lately. I'm sure as we get closer, I'll have more I want to say about my plans and stuff! :thumbsup2

Question!
I decided that I'm going to rent a car on this trip. Normally, I wouldn't advise someone to because I just love the WDW transportation system but this is ten days worth of trip squeezed into 4 days and I need to eliminate some travel time, especially Friday.

I'm going to go through each day's plans soon but Friday is pretty much like this:

8:00am DRIVE to Epcot. (This will be the only day we'll probably drive to the parks, you'll see why!)

3:00pm Drive to WWoS to pick up my packet for the 5k the next morning. Hopefully this won't take long and we can drive back to POR, shower and get ready for dinner and MNSSHP by...

4:40 Drive to Poly for a 5:10 ADR at 'Ohana.

As soon as we're done with dinner, it's on to the MK for MNSSHP!!

Now the car will save a lot of time because I won't have to get a taxi to WWoS AND I can get to the Poly for dinner much more easily than bus to MK, monorail to Poly. That leaves some extra time for showering and dressing up, if we decide to do that!

Now here's the dilema....if I drive to the Poly for dinner, what is my next move? Take the monorail to the MK and leave the car at the Poly? If that is allowed, that's what I'll do...but it is? If not, what am I supposed to do? Drive from the Poly to the TTC to leave the car?

Anyone have experience with this??

...NYC and stuff.

Say - I am trying to give you a thank you about what to do about aging pets.

Becuz -
I just lost "Ladybug" (14 yr old tri-colored female Beagle) 6 days ago due to many medical issues, old age, etc. I remembered your blog about your cat and wanna say thank you for helping me in getting through this very rough last few days.

** THANK YOU**

Moreover,
I have saved your previous tr per se the section that has your talk about NYC and yes....I have been wanting to go to NYC and see Lady Liberty, etc.......

and
#2) yes....all this buzz about NYC in this blog of yours has finally gotten me up off my feelings about losing my best friend - so.........

I don't think you want to leave your car at the Poly. You would risk getting towed and although I have never seen anyone get towed before, I have read about others that have had it happened. To avoid it, why don't you park at TTC and then head to the Poly? We did that once and just parked at TTC and then walked to the Poly. It was a very short walk.

We just decided on a quick trip for MNSSHP and i didn't realize we would be there at the same time as you. The kids have no idea that we are going. It's going to be their first plane ride too. I was worried about not having a car (we always drive), but with such a short trip we couldn't drive this time. I hope it all works out with just Disney transportation. I guess this time we really don't have any other choice. I hope you get a plan worked out with the rental car that works for you.

It really is great to be able to do it. We go in more now that Tom doesn't work there anymore. When he was going into the city 5 days a week for work, the last thin he wanted to do on the weekend was go back!

I don't blame him!

As for your parking dilema, I agree with anjalee6. Park at TTC and walk to the Poly. And then at the end of the night, skip the crowds on the express and take the resort monorail back to TTC!

First of all, so sorry to hear about little Ladybug! It's so horrible to lose a pet.

NYC vaca, huh? You'll have lots of fun...and lots of time to plan!

Oh great!! Are you going to the party on the 30th? Hope to see you there!

As for the parking situation, I've been googling like crazy and everything that I've read says valet parking is a $12 daily fee. Nothing about time limit, just keep seeing the word "daily" so I have to assume that means if you valet, there is no time limit. I really don't want to break any rules but at this point I'm fairly confident that it's doable.

I didn't think about valet parking. Maybe it's completely different then. Yeah, we are going to the party on the 30th. I always wanted to take the kids and with a half day and day off for the Jewish holiday at school, it was a perfect time to go for a short trip, but I don't have to tell you that. :goodvibes we just have to decide on costumes for the kids and then of course since it's a surprise I have to be sneaky about picking the costumes and packing. I don't want the kids to have any idea that we are going.

Yes, leave the car at Poly. We did that during our trip, our last day, we had breakfast at Kona and then took the monorail to MK. It's probably the easiest solution.

Oh really? Good to know from someone who's done it! Did you valet or just park regularly?

TWO MONTHS FROM TONIGHT!!!
Actually from this exact moment, I'll be taking off from Newark airport and on my way to Disney World!!!

:cool1:

Yay! So excited for you. I can't wait either! Our flight gets in at 8:13 pm on Sept. 28th. I am hoping that we get to the hotel by 9:30 especially with the little ones so we can get them up early in the morning for our first full day! Yay!

My neighbor almost let it slip today. She came over for dinner and she said something like, "So you decided to go to Disney again?" I shook my head yes, while the kids weren't looking, but said, "No....we are always thinking about it at our house, but not going any time soon." Thankfully, I don't think my son was paying attention or it would have been over.

How funny would it be if we were on the same ME bus!!

Oh shoot, I keep forgetting that we are most likely renting a car! It actually makes me sad when I think about not taking ME this trip.....

My flight is supposed to land at 9:07...if you guys would like a ride!

Thanks for the offer. We aren't bringing our car seats though since we won't have the car. It's just one less thing we have to pack! I hope that we run into each other at some point though. I would love to meet you. We will have to share itineraries at some point. :goodvibes

Oh definitely! I'll post mine when it gets closer. We are unfortunately on a VERY strict schedule but hopefully our schedules will overlap!
