I just purchased the Nike Plus and I probably need to calibrate it. I am doing my training outside. Will it be ok to calibrate it on a treadmill or should I calibrate it outside. Also, does it have to be calibrated separately for walking and running? Thanks for the advice in advance. :)

I calibrated mine on a measured indoor track. I can't see why you couldn't use a treadmill if you wanted. If you are outside, be certain you are on a measured course. And yes, you should calibrate it for running and walking.

I wouldn't calibrate on a treadmill. I used mine on a treadmill once to see what the difference was after I had calibrated outdoors, and it was a bit off (could have just been me though)... And yes you need to calibrate running and walking separately...

Dont calibrate to a treadmill, as mostly tms are not an exact gauge of what you ran.

Better to do it on a track where you can measure the distance, or pick a run route and then map it via mapmyrun.com or with your car before the run so you know the distance.

Then use the sportband to run that distance, and then calibrate it when you sink up.

I had my Sportband for a year and LOVED it, it gave me all the info I needed. I just upgraded to the Sportwatch with GPS though.

As PPs said, don't use a treadmill. My calibrated Nike+ and TM are off by about 10%.
