What sort of "nightlife" is there at DL? While at WDW we love to go to JellyRolls!!! Is there anything similar within walking distance at DL???

They tend to have a New Orleans style band at Jazz Kitchen in DTD in the bar area.

Since I have not been to Jelly Roll's I can't compare the two though sorry. I do know there are lots of bars and clubs not too far away.

It's basically a dueling piano bar, sing along at the top of your lungs type place!

Nope, nothing like that nearby. Sorry. You'd have to take a cab to either the Irvine Spectrum or the Block at Orange for any type of nightlife such as bars/nightclubs.

As mentioned, there is a live Jazz band at the Jazz Kitchen on some nights. They are very good.

Also, House of Blues has live music on nights where they do not have concerts.

But, that's about it.

I wish they had something like Jellyrolls at the DLR. I think they need a place like that.::yes::

I second. In fact, any sort of Disney-themed nightlife *coughAdventurer'sClubcough*;) that's open past park closings (so past midnight on a Saturday night) would be fantastic (and something that they should put in if they want to make it a resort destination, imo).

Oh Adventurers Club.... that WOULD be wonderful! What I wouldn't give for a Kungaloosh right now!!!!

So it looks like either House of Blues or ESPN Zone huh?

Or the movie theater. It's nice that DTD has a few adult-ish restaurants and that everything's within walking distance, but it's still pretty clear that DLR thinks that it will make money off of a venture only if there's an appeal for the 9 and under crowd, which is stupid because there are a lot of locals who would go there if there were more choices.

I have to say I so wish they would do an Adventure's Club here! The issue is that #1 DLR will never be as big of a resort draw as it is a locals draw. There is a lot of night life around town as well. I think if they organized it for locals to keep them late at the parks and to even bring in a DTD evening crowd it could make Disney some nice money. Heck I would so go down just for the club and to meet friends!

As to what is there, I would say the band at Jazz Kitchen is great! The bartenders have always been nice and they have good appetizers if you are looking for a small bite to eat.

HOB is great IF you check the schedule before you head out. Many nights they have concerts, but as was mentioned the nights that they don't I guess they have music.

For ESPN I know they have games on tv and to play otherwise I have no idea since I have never been there.

We tend to go more low key, we love to hang out with friends at UVA bar and sit outside and people watch and chat under the stars. But we just love it there.

As for the Jazz Kitchen... I MAY try it... but being from New Orleans... I hardly want to spend much time of my vacation in a "New Orleans" type place! I want something different! Plus... no matter how hard they try... the food is NEVER as good as it is down here! Yes... I know I'm biased but... I'm just sayin' :rolleyes1

Sorry... what's UVA bar? :confused3 I like low key too. I just adore JellyRolls and Adventurers club as they are both something I don't have easy access to at home!

First at least last I went to the Jazz Kitchen bar, every band member was from NOLA. That said this place is also the well known Ralph Brennan's from NOLA, so you have a better chance at getting good food! But I so understand wanting something you don't get at home.

I understand you want something fun and wild, but if one night you just want to hang out and people watch I decided to add the UVA bar. The bar is a circular outdoor bar that actually sits in the center walkway of DTD. It is part of the Catal restaurant right across the way. There is no music just good drinks and relaxing under the stars. But I enjoy it so much I just had to add it!

Many of us wish that DLR had more night options, but maybe look into House of Blues for your trip that might work or ESPN.
