Night at AKV without checking out of POP

I will be staying one night at AKV in the middle of my stay at POP during the 50th Anniversary. I have heard that staying at two places at the same time messes with the system and magic bands and you may get checked out of your first resort after checking in at the second one. I already shortened my name on the AKV reservation but is there anything else I could do to avoid any problem while checking in AKV without being checked out of POP? An how does check in work if I don't use online check-in/go directly to your room option on MDE, do I get a card key?

I did this last year and had no problems. We were staying at CCV and stayed one night at YC during the middle of the that stay. No problems getting in the room at YC and no problems when we went back to CCV. I used online check-in, but I would guess if you aren’t, you could request a key card when you check in at the desk.

That’s good to know. I’d prefer to use online check-in but I am concerned about having any trouble when returning to Pop.
