Nicki & Todd are at it again, F&W style, snacking & drinking oh my! LIVE Tonight!!

Wow, Nic sorry your dinner was a bust at Chefs:sad2: Some places just do lunch better than dinner.

Have a wonderful last day!:goodvibes

We bought a bottle in WDW this past June for $29.99. We couldn't find it anywhere here in NYC! :sad2: Then on a whim, we stopped in the liquor store while waiting for chinese take out near our weekend home in Poconos, PA and would you believe they had it there for $18.99!:yay: DH could not believe that our small little country town in PA sold it, but not one liquor store in Manhattan!! :rotfl:

OMG - the price really went up!! The last time we were in Disney the Rosa was $19.99 - the same price in our liquor store!! (and one glass is $10 - dh figured to buy the whole bottle for the price of 2 GLASSES!! *duh no wonder Disney raised the price! :sad2: - Maybe it was just mismarked on the bottle we bought? :confused3)

Am I seeing it wrong, or is the Puerto Rico menu showing that nothing is eligible for the snack credit other than water?

I was at the festival the first weekend and the vertical standing menu out in front of the Puerto Rico booth had all the snack credit logos on it. :confused3 I do not know what menu that is in the picture.

To my knowledge the only food item you cannot use a snack credit for is the Tuna Sensation in Japan.

Glad you caught up, just one more day to post and then I am done...are you doing a dining review too? Please do I need more food porn! popcorn::

Oh, yes, I will be doing a trip report/dining review -- the majority of the pictures I took were of the food this time (and Spaceship Earth for some reason -- go figure ). :thumbsup2 I would love for you to come over once I get it started. :goodvibes

Glad to see you made it home safe, but bummer about Chefs. I hope your last day was better!

Yesterday was fun! Glad to be home though...so much to do.

Nicki ... sorry for holding an AA meeting on your review thread! :rotfl2:

No apologies please, I love it! Booze is a good thing :rotfl:

My menu pic is the one long black sign in front of the cash registers....Did you have a great weekend?

Ok great! I will see you over there!

Glad you are home safe and sound. Anxious for the final reviews; and don't forget I need you to mail me some info on Naples for my boss (I'll email you my mailing address).

Good morning from Sunny and super HOT Marco Island! Yesterday my wonderful hubby put a clink in my plans..I was waiting and expecting this so it wasnt a bit shocker :lmao:

He decided that he had enough of Epcot and would rather go to HS for the day...I was bummed but I am a go with the flow kinda girl so I caved....but the looming thought of HS CS for lunch gagged me! I called the Dis line but nothing was available for lunch so I thought we would go to ESPN or B&C instead....did that really happen you ask? Well you have to wait and see!

We had an early breakfast ressie at Fresh....seated right away to a very empty restaurant but that changed shortly and it did start to fill up.

Fresh is on the ground floor of the Dolphin, right in the corner by the Fountain restaurant. It is a buffet, made to order belgian waffles, pancakes and french toast (made with Texas toast), another station for make your own yogurt parfaits (they also have premade ones), made to order omelette stations and a juice bar. There is also a hot food station and pastries.

DH was starved so he got right in line and got his food, asked me to get him some french toast....that took forever. When I finally made it back to the table he had finished his first plate so no pics of that. He said the scrambled eggs were very good, the bacon was to die for..not greasy, very large and crispy. He loved the potatoes, not thrilled with the poor selection of fruit and the plain yogurt was good.

Plain yogurt and oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins, he enjoyed both

Dinner008.jpg

I asked for 2 pancakes because they looked so huge and fluffy, normally I dont eat these but they looked too good to pass up. The french toast was huge but I didnt know that at first and made the mistake of ordering 2 as well. Served with hot syrup, we were very happy. The pancakes were fantastic, light and fluffy and very tasty. DH said the french toast was perfect and he ate it all.

Dinner003.jpg

I opted for the make your own omelette...just sausage and cheddar cheese but they had over a dozen choices, bacon, ham, sausage, tons of different veggies and what not...basically if you can dream it they can make it. All the fillings are in this large refrigerated tray, you load up a bowl of goodies and hand it to the chef, you decided how much or how little you want...I would have snapped a pic but there were too many people in front of it. You have your choice of cheese and egg whites if wanted. This took a long time too....but worth it. No bagels or toast so I grabbed a croissant, gross...super greasy and sticky sweet on the top, not impressed at all.

Dinner001.jpg

We had the best Starbucks coffee and fresh squeezed OJ. They leave you a pot of coffee and refill the juice often.

Dinner002.jpg

DH's other plate was more bacon...and it was GREAT! I do not eat the greasy plastic bacon at WDW but at Fresh it is the best! More potatoes, they were good too, a chocolate croissant (gross), a cheese danish (gross) and a blueberry yogurt parfait with granola and fresh berries for me...I LOVED this and ate every bite. The pancake, omelette and the parfait filled me up, not worth $18 but it was very good and filling.

Dinner018.jpg

Up next more pics of Fresh.....we would go back if I was staying at the Dolphin but I would not make a special trip for it...the buffets at WDW are much better. It is a pain waiting in 2 lines for food and that does take a while and the pastries and fruit are not the greatest.

More buffet pics of Fresh.

Oatmeal and Grits with the toppings..they also had about 4 cold cereals to choose from.

Dinner004.jpg

Sausage links (very good, DH snagged one for me), croissants and bacon in the background.

Dinner005.jpg

Pecan buns

Dinner006.jpg

Cheese danish on the top, nut rolls on the bottom.

Dinner009.jpg

Berry danish on the top, apple turnover on the bottom

Dinner010.jpg

4 types of muffins but have no clue what they are as the place didnt have any food signs by the pastries.

Dinner011.jpg

Fruit, I dont like it all jumbled together, I prefer a lot more selections and separated...

Dinner012.jpg

Chocolate criossants, more plain croissants and another pastry of some sort

Dinner013.jpg

Chorizo scrambled eggs...they also had plain scrambled, pot of potatoes and one of bacon but there were people by them so I couldnt get a pic

Dinner014.jpg

The juices are made right in front of you, very cool! Here are the three juices and their descriptions

Dinner015.jpg

Dinner016.jpg

We tried the Detox (tasted terrible, like fresh cut grass or something) and the Antioxident (tasted too much like Ginger) and they were BLECH!

Dinner017.jpg

I was considering trying Fresh next trip, but there doesn't seem to be anything "special" there that would require a trip there. The omelets and yogurt bar sound nice, but nothing I can't have at home. Maybe I should think about lunch there.

When we got off the bus at HS DH whispered, I think I screwed up...lets go! But we stayed, it was just so hot and so packed with people that it threw us off for a bit. We did have a great time, rode TSM twice (beat DH both times thank you very much) and many other rides and did some shows...it was a fun day.

We needed a cold drink and Todd needed a snack to keep him going so we hopped into Writer's Stop for a Passionfruit Frozen Drink...sooo darn good!

Dinner029.jpg

And the CM sold DH on the carrot cake cookie...said it has won all kinds of awards and such, she had him hooked! It was good, the cookie part was very cake like and delish but the filling was too hard and thick and not for me...

You're on Marco Island! :beach: Hubby surprised you with a side trip! :yay: Good for you!!! :goodvibes

Fruit, I dont like it all jumbled together, I prefer a lot more selections and separated...

Totally agree with you!!! My DS5 will only eat cantalope and will not eat it if it's "touching" another fruit! :rotfl:

Can't wait to see where you ate lunch. I'm guessing you got a walk-up to Sci-fi.

So did Todd ever get a cinny roll this trip???

Try the Carrot Cake cookie again in Dec. When I had it in June, the filling was soft and very thin. The cookie was delicious but I couldn't eat it on the go. It's so darn sticky that it made a mess. I didn't realize it ahead of time or I would have sat in the Writer's Shop to eat it.

Is the Passion Fruit Slush new??? You got me hooked on the Mango one last time!

After our snack DH asks what we are going to do for lunch...quick someone hand me a bat to whack him with! We are in HS for crying out loud, there are no good CS here! Well what is right around the corner from WS? Sci Fi! A very packed, crowded, herds of people gathering, not a chance in heck of getting in Sci Fi.

And what do you think my little genius does? He goes in, asks for a party of 2, no sir we do not have any reservations...and guess what?

HE GETS US IN AT 1:30 :worship:

It is noon now so we go and play some more and head back to Sci Fi where we are seated right away. The smell of burgers is making me sooo happy!

We are hitchhikers once again, in the far rear right hand side...super great for watching movies!

We had a great server, very attentive. We each ordered diet vanilla cokes (cuz it tastes better than regular coke ones) and I wanted onion rings..Dh was thrilled to see that they are back to single serving ones so he could get something different. He opted for the artichoke dip. Both were served cold....the cheese in Todd's dip was a thick glob and it was gross. I sent them both back (again, they must have everything prepped and ready for the next order to come in..nothing is made to order IMHO). Fresh ones were delivered and they were hot and much better.

The dip was in need of a bit more salt and pepper, the chips were hot and crunchy but it was very good and he ate it all.

Dinner034.jpg

The onion rings were the best, not greasy, just excellent!

Dinner036.jpg

I was sad to see the cucumber cantelope salad was not longer available...so we each had fries with our burgers...the fries were super hot and crispy, not greasy and the most delish fries ever! We ate them all! No pickle with our burgers so I was bummed with that! I had the cheeseburger, DH did too with mushrooms...the burgers were huge...the buns were huge and soft and fresh. DH loved his burger because it was so well done..I prefer a medium cook so my burger was too well done for me to enjoy but I ate most of it anyways.

Dinner035.jpg

Dinner037.jpg

The lady in front of me had the ribs and she sent them back because she said they were horrible...they did smell good though!

We would def go back to Sci Fi but I think I will stick with reuben!

We had the carrot cake cookie just a few days before you and the filling was creamy and delicious. Maybe they h ad their chill case too cold? :confused3 It is an absolute winner when the filling is the correct consistency :thumbsup2

:rotfl::rotfl:Yum! Your pictures of Sci-Fi look GREAT:thumbsup2 I've never had a desire to go... NOW I do!!

Those burgers look great! So glad I was able to get an ADR for our upcoming trip! Not sure we would have Todd's touch! :lmao:

And I have to remember to try that carrot cake cookie ... not sure how I am going to remember everything!

I had that dip at Sci Fi and it was gross! I bet you are right about it being prepped before hand. Ill remember that for next time!

Every time I see someone on the restaurant board asking if it's possible to get in to eat anywhere without an ADR and everyone responds freaking out "NO NO NO!" "YOU NEED AN ADR!" I just think well you DON'T need an ADR if you are with MickeyNicki's DH!! LOL

Love your reviews!

Too bad I missed the meet on Friday but my husband decided to take us off-site instead that afternoon. Maybe next time!

Its nothing I would go out of my way for.

You're on Marco Island! :beach: Hubby surprised you with a side trip! :yay: Good for you!!! :goodvibes

No silly, I work on Marco Island ;)

Totally agree with you!!! My DS5 will only eat cantalope and will not eat it if it's "touching" another fruit! :rotfl: I dont like when fruits take on the other fruits flavors...especially pineapple!

You guessed right!

Nope he never did...first time ever!

Is the Passion Fruit Slush new??? You got me hooked on the Mango one last time!

I think we will get it again in Dec...it was good but too cold in the middle...the passionfruit one is the same, a passionfruit mango!

It was pretty cold in the center, must have just come out of the big coolers!

:rotfl::rotfl:Yum! Your pictures of Sci-Fi look GREAT:thumbsup2 I've never had a desire to go... NOW I do!!

For this he has the golden touch, for lotto tickets not so much :rotfl2:

Now if that was a paying service, getting impossible ressies at the last minute, I would sign Todd up in a heartbeat!

There is always a next time!

Okay...I want to know what Todd's secret is. How the heck does he pull that off--especially during free dining? I think he's slipping the host/hostess something. ;)

Glad you enjoyed Sci Fi again. And you should have known better -- the reuben is to die for -- just ask Mr. Schultz! :thumbsup2
