Nicki & Todd are at it again, F&W style, snacking & drinking oh my! LIVE Tonight!!

glad to hear you're feeling your usual self again. the dolphin and its restaurants are really good options if the rate is right...

have a great day, hope the "ditch" goes well:lmao:

I tell ya, if you are not on the DDP and you are driving your own car I would def go to Il Mulino for a late dinner, the restaurant is just so relaxing and fun!

We will not be on the DDP our first night of the trip and we aren't driving our own car (but we are staying at the BWV, so no car needed :thumbsup2) so if I can figure out how to get us back by 8:30 after seeing La Nouba I think I'm going to book it. We'll just do QS for lunch and TS for dinner, instead of TS for lunch and QS for dinner. :goodvibes I'm making myself hungry!!

Nicki So sorry that you were under the weather...those lingering headaches are the worst!!!!

What incredible meal that you had at Il Mulino...we have never eaten there...never even thought about it...but I am adding it to my list for our next trip....everything looked delicious!! and that gelato...what a nice way to end a meal!!

Sadly they do not take the TIW, no AP discounts and no DDP. When we checked into the Dolphin we were given a coupon book and Shula's, Il Mulino and BlueZoo were not in it but all the other restaurants were...bummer!

Neat. They didn't give us one in September, so maybe it is a new promo.

I am very glad that you enjoyed Il Mulino. And I have to concur about the limoncello shot, sort of like sweetened antifreeze.

Wait. Main Street Bakery is closed? Didn't they know you were coming?

I read on the Theme Park Board it was the 7th or maybe the 10th! (or was that for the opening of the Land?!! :rotfl2: I cant keep up all these closures!)

Now why cant they bake the MSB Cinnamon Buns somewhere and bring them to Casey's?

Glad you are feeling better - esp after that amazing pizza!! Cant wait to hear your assesment of the seminars... I've been quite saddened to see the charge of $8 - and then just a thimble of an offering (beer, wine, champagne... whatever..) its just sad

Thanks for your great reviews and pics! :thumbsup2

Glad that you're feeling better. :goodvibes

Enjoying your dining reviews!! I think we will be trying Flying Fish in May as we will be staying at Beach Club for our 25th anniv. LOVE all the F&W reviews. We have GOT to get there sometime. I have been wanting to go there in Oct. for a few years now. Maybe we can squeeze in a long weekend next Oct. Thanks for all the great reviews!! Your dinner at Il Mulino looks great.

It must be just me but every time I see the title of this thread my mind goes straight to the gutter..."Nicki & Todd are at it again"....:rolleyes1

:lmao::lmao:
When's Main Street Bakery going to be completing their renovations??? anyone know? We're going to be there in 3 weeks...

TA's were told Oct 7th

Hi there you guys! We are back from dinner and let me just say this...if you follow my reviews you know we love Tutto Italia in Epcot....well that is second banana to Il Mulino! We had the most incredible time, the most attentive service and the most delish food ever! The atmosphere was very quiet and relaxing, nothing like Tutto. We were not rushed at all, again nothing like Tutto. Much cheaper than Tutto too.

We arrived right at 6:30 and were seated immediately to a large dining room to the left of the entrance....there were 4 other tables seated and the rest of the place was empty. We had 2 servers that treated us like King and Queen...their names are Michael and Tony. I am not going to post menu pics because the one that is listed on the Swan/Dolphin site is correct.

As soon as we were seated this little plate arrived...it is roasted eggplant in a very light balsamic with parmesan cheese and thin slices of a salami like item...both were out of this world and if you spread some eggplant on the bread...oh boy it was good! The bread was a nice dense, chewy Tuscan bread and there were thin crispy bread pieces that were very spicy...DH loved them! Butter available on request but olive oil is on the table.

Dinner001.jpg

Dinner002.jpg

We each had Pelligrino and I was not planning on having a drink tonight but Michael recommended a cocktail that DH just had to have...the Forza Acai...Michael had it served in 2 glasses so I can have some and let me tell you this, I am a lover of blueberries and this was knock it out of the park wonderful....not too sweet, just strong enough and we will go to the bar and relax with this drink!

Dinner003.jpg

Dinner004.jpg

Dinner005.jpg

DH was alot hungrier than I was but thats ok....I told him to order whatever he wanted. He started with the calamari, it was so lightly battered, very tender and there was some thin sliced fried zucchini there too! The marinara was spicy and wonderful. Michael served us some from the hot plate and then left the plate on the table. They do not put your dinner order in until you have finished your appetizer, they do not rush you at all and we really appreciated that.

Dinner006.jpg

Dinner007.jpg

Dinner008.jpg

Todd also had....wait for it... a caesar salad! It was huge and fresh, made to order, I had some and it was the best! Served on a huge dinner plate and it covered the entire thing.

Dinner009.jpg

Since he ordered so much as an appie he decided on a white pizza, it was 8 huge slices (I would say equivilent to a large pizza anywhere) and there was mozzarella, ricotta, garlic and oregano. The aroma coming from this was mouthwatering, I mean it had the greatest smell...I wish I could bottle it, put it behind my ears ha ha! Between the 2 of us we ate 5 pieces and took the rest back to the room.

Dinner010.jpg

I had the pasta cabonara...wow the serving was huge..didnt realize I could have ordered a 1/2 portion. The pasta was served a perfect al dente. The proscuitto was tender, the onions tender, the flavor was fantastic...DH never had anything like this before and he loved it..we took leftovers back to the room too and they gave us little to go plates and plasticware....

Dinner011.jpg

We were so stuffed, very happy and satisfied until Michael brought us the dessert menu. I didnt want a thing, DH had to get something. He ordered chocolate gelato, so rich and dark and creamy, 2 huge scoops and a ton of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and strawberries underneath.....it was the best and now he wants to go to the gelato stand in Italy tomorrow and try another flavor!

Dinner012.jpg

Our parting gift from Il Mulino was a small glass of Lemoncello, vodka with fresh lemon juice and a simple syrup. They dish it out of a wooden barrel tableside and toast to your health. It was sooooo sweet my teeth ached after one sip! This was right up Todd's alley so he drank both glasses.

Dinner014.jpg

From now on, whenever we are jonesing for Italian Il Mulino is our spot!

Now I really, really want to try Il Mulino! They don't accept TiW, though, do they?

Good morning, Happy Sunday! My last full day...well not really as I am not planning on leaving until 5-6pm tomorrow night (but Todd doesnt know that yet so no one tell him ok?)

I am just waiting for him to get off a work call (I know at 8am on a Sunday??) and then we are outta here! Breakfast at the BWI bakery again...really wish we could go somewhere else but oh well....then over to Epcot. I really want to do some of the seminars today so I may send lovey back to the room for a nap without me....I can handle a Solo Afternoon right? Ooh that sounds fun...lets see if I can get him to ditch me :rotfl:

See you guys later!

1st, sorry if it seemed Like I disappered. We went to the Toy Story dbl feature Friday nt and last night we were playing ToyStory Mania on the Wii and drinking :rolleyes1 but I'm all caught up now :thumbsup2

Sorry about the migraine and blechs. Hope you're feeling better now

Il Mulino looks wonderful! We're going to have to try that next time!

Hope you have a great day:yay:

Loved the review of Il Mulino. Now that the kids are getting a little older, I can finally begin thinking about going to the "better" restaurants at the World. Hope you have a wonderful day today. Good luck on the "ditch":lmao:

glad to hear you're feeling your usual self again. the dolphin and its restaurants are really good options if the rate is right...

have a great day, hope the "ditch" goes well:lmao:

Glad you guys enjoyed the review...Ditch day didnt happen, he hung in there with me all day!

I love a nice TS for dinner! Perfect end to the perfect day!

We just polished off the rest of the pizza! It was just as great cold as it was hot!

Neat. They didn't give us one in September, so maybe it is a new promo. I am very glad that you enjoyed Il Mulino. And I have to concur about the limoncello shot, sort of like sweetened antifreeze.

When I looked online for FL residents (Swolphin site) they said FL residents are entitled to the $100 booklet so I printed that page and brought it with me...at check in they had no idea what it was so they just gave me a discount book they give for conventions and such.

I dont recall seeing the cinnamon buns at Caseys, maybe the ice cream place next to the Plaza had them? The seminars are so full we never got into any of them :sad2:

That is my DREAM! :cloud9:To ditch my family for a day and run loose in Epcot!! :yay: If Todd drinks enough wine, will he get sleepy???:rotfl: I was thinking the same thing! :rotfl2:

Today was his day to get a headache...must be the heat, it is a real scorcher out here and we have been guzzling water to stay hydrated and then you get the gut ache from too much water :rotfl:

Thanks for your great reviews and pics! :thumbsup2 Glad that you're feeling better. :goodvibes

Thanks for the get well wishes and thanks for reading!

I love WDW in Oct, the F&W is my favorite part of the year! Hope you like FF, it is great!

1st, sorry if it seemed Like I disappered. I am going to take my nieces to that next week...if they have not already gone with their grandpa..was it fun? Today was a great day but man it was soooo hot!

Today we planned on more F&W snacking so we had another light breakfast...DH went for the cinnamon raisin bagel and I had the croissant..both were fresh and filling. We shared a small fruit as they were sold out of the larger serving with the yogurt.

It was so hot this morning, we were just roasting...we decided to take the boat to Epcot and we were shocked when we arrived...the place was packed! We did some rides and went to the F&W main arena and it was loaded...could not get into any of the noon seminars so we just said the heck with it and head to the countries for some eating and drinking.

First stop was Puerto Rico..DH wanted to try the ham croquettes and when he saw some people with the chicken and rice dish he told me to get one of those too! The ham croquettes were fabulous...not greasy and the sauce that came with them was delish...I had one bite of one and DH ate the rest and promptly got back in line for another plate! The chicken and rice was terrific too, large serving, lots of white meat tender chicken, loaded with peppers, capers and spanish olives..we loved it!

Food004-5.jpg

Food005-6.jpg

Food007-5.jpg

Food006-5.jpg

Food008-5.jpg

Next stop was Chile, we tried the Corn and Cheese Arepa. It was a bit weird, like a sweet pancake with cheese on it...nothing special and I would not get it again.

Food009-5.jpg

Greece was our next stop and the winner of the best food at the F&W festival...so far :lmao: I ordered the Greek salad, large portion and it was served with a soft pita and it was excellent. The spanakopita was great as always but the chicken souvlaki was incredible, super tender white meat chicken, excellently seasoned and just enough tzatziki sauce served on a large soft pita..we will def visit this place tomorrow.

Toy Story was great, but it is 3 1/2 hours in the theater with a 10 minute intermission. The 3D is phenomonal- so much better than the old colored red/blue 3D.

Todd didn't get a cinnamon roll this morning????:confused3 F&W food looks great, especially the greek food :thumbsup2

My next door neighbors/clients are (supposed to be) at Epcot today with dinner at LeCellier in a little bit. Hope the crowds aren't too overwhelming, it's their 1st trip and I'm really nervouse for them.

What's up for tonight? Is Chefs still on or has Todd come up with something else yet?

Next up was the NY Wine Adventure and DH wanted to try the Ice Wine. It was super small, so sweet I could not stand one sip but he are going to buy a bottle to bring it home when we go back to Epcot tomorrow.

Food015-5.jpg

Food017-5.jpg

Food016-5.jpg

At Ireland Todd wanted to try the cheese plate...BLECH....first of all the chutney tastes like air freshener, the bread is a dry piece of wood and the cheeses are all dry and very strong, almost bitter...this booth was a bust for us. Here is a pic of the Fisherman's Pie too.

Food021-4.jpg

I popped into the tea shop in England and bought my first pumpkin thing the entire trip...Pumpkin Chai Tea! Going to try it tonight when we get back to the room.

Food022-4.jpg

DH wanted the chocolate milk creme brulee from France, he loved it! Super creamy and wonderful

Food023-4.jpg

Over to NOLA for some wonderful chicken gumbo...careful as it is spicy but oh so good. The bread pudding was excellent and the portion was a good size. The cocktail they have is a fruity one made with bourbon.

Food024-4.jpg

Food025-3.jpg

Food026-3.jpg

Food027-3.jpg

At Germany we had the sausage on a pretzel roll...expected sauerkraut too but it isnt served with it and DH was bummed...very good though and very big!

Food028-2.jpg

Food028-2.jpg

A peach oolong ice tea from Lotus Blossom to cool us off...great stuff!

Food030-3.jpg

At Poland I wanted the Chopin Raspberry Cooler...I had it last year and yeah it was sweet but I liked it..not this year...it was sooo sweet and super tart and just gross...DH finished it off for me...what can I say, he is like Mikey, he will eat anything.

Food031-3.jpg

And before we left for a break we stopped at the GG stand for a slushie...love these little suckers. We each had one but I took the picture of Todd's as it was easier, you know with me balancing our tote bag, the F&W gift card, the drink and the camera! :lmao:

Food032-3.jpg

Food033-3.jpg

Yum....that Greek food looks really, really good.

I was just showing Cait the food....and she's HUNGRY NOW!!!!! (and thinks the GM slush looks good, little does she know, she can't have it! well maybe not all of it, but a sip would be okay. It's 90% water after all. LOL!)

Can't wait to see more!

mmmmmm yummy! I love GM slushies  DH loves the GG

Sorry to hear Ireland was such a bust :sad2:

Aw I am sorry that you weren't feeling good for awhile there. At least you were able to enjoy Il Mulino. It looked awesome! Cool to see more of the F&W stuff. Thanks so much!

That Greek food did look mighty darn tasty and I love those slushie suckers too!;) Thanks once again for providing some awesome porn!:thumbsup2
