I was looking at the website and thought this looked like a fun place to stay. I was wondering what anyone who has stayed there has to say about it. Also if anyone has photos from a stay there? Or if anyone has done the character meal. Thanks :goodvibes

awesome hotel for kids and the pool is fantastic. The rates are steep for a glorified Holiday Inn. The rooms are nice, but if you are by the pool forget about sleeping.

DBIL,DSIL DFIL 2-7 yr olds & a 13 yr old stayed there this past February. they paid much more than they would have if they'd just rented points( they spent over $200.00 per night & couldn't use pools, some corridors were blocked off, wet paint etc)--We thought it looked cramped. I know they thought it was too small for their family. At the time it was still under construction, which i assume is no longer the case. I think if DFIL had stayed on site with us, it may have been more manageable, space wise, for them. When DBIL & DSIL went out at night, DFIL, would wake up as they tried to get by the fold out sofa--it is just plain in the way when folded out.
They raved about the breakfast, hours were handy & food provided plentiful, we all thought the reception area was bright & happy & Sponge Bob & Patrick were about frequently. You could see where the pools were going to be a lot of fun.
the shuttles to WDW wern't as frequent as they'd hoped, but they are not a real scheduled bunch! ;)
we thought we got much better value on site buying DVC pts--liked it so much we bought DVC! DBIL & family will be staying with us next trip-
some folks really like this Holiday Inn, it does seem cheery!

Hi,
Well we loved it. We stayed their the first week of DEC. We had few people there and noise wasn't a problem. Even though it was there low time and I'm sure that help us because we waited for nothing. The pools were wonderful and our kids were in all the games. They got to do the pies in the face at the pool. Poor Grandpa was the victim in that one.
Our rooms were plenty big enough for us. But we dind't pull out the sofa. we had enough beds.
The place to our kids ages 10 months to 13 wa the best they can't wait to go back.
I want to go on a family cruise for our next trip.T he kids want to go back to NIck. They dont say Disney they say Nick..
So I'm gong to plan a cruise and four days at Nick afterwards........
Go you will love it. The prices are high depending when you go. We paid $138.00 and found we could of paid $125.00 a night if we would pay in advance without any refund if I couldn't go. We went with the $138.00..

So how many were in your room? and did you specify a suite character room? My kids range in age from 10 months to 11(we have 4 how about you?) I am thinking of staying here for at least a day next time we head down. Did you do the parks or just stay around the pool?

Wow! DBIL did pay through the nose. :earseek: I have to say they went thru a newbie travel agent (a friend), who was unaware the place was still in pretty extensive construction. Do I have to say they don't plan? ;) they also went during the school break (we joined them later), so that accounts for the higher price, also-
they did have an issue with the plumbing , but I think that was strictly the construction & it was taken care of quickly & they were happy--
DSIL said she found the kitchenette set up awkward-
Personally,I would have asked the TA for some sort of compensation as she really should have known the place was still under construction in Feb '05. I think they felt uncomfortable with that option because she is a friend of long standing :worried:
there are many folks who love this place & I can see it's charm, just not for us.
I really did like seeing Patrick & Sponge Bob :goodvibes

Hi,
We had my grandson who is 13 and my daughter his Mom share the twin bedroom. They both fit in there fine.
Then my other daughter and I share the Queenroom.
We spent the weekend at the Hotel and went to the parks threw the week.
For our party of 22 it was a great place. Lots to do for all ages...

Thanks for all the replies. I appreciate all the info. Does anyone have photos? How far was it from US and Disney? Thanks again. :goodvibes

I have photos somewhere...I'll look for them.

We stayed there a few days with no intentions of going to the parks...frankly, we could't afford to do both at the time. My kids LOVED the pools and slides and shows. We considered it "water park" admission as well as our room rate. If I'm going to pay that much to stay there, then I want to enjoy the resort. It doesn't make sense to me to pay that much to stay there, and then spend all my time in WDW. (Now, if I was really rich that would be different.)

I would guess it takes 10-15 minutes to WDW and 25 to US. I think you'd be better off to drive yourself than use their buses.

I think you can request a certain character theme. Sponge Bob seems to be the most requested. My kids didn't care so it wasn't an issue for us.

We didn't do the character meal while we were there.

I think you can get the pay ahead rates by going thru the Nick site or calling them direct. We stayed there 2 times prior to it changing to Nick and I did it online directly thru their website. :)

Also, check out this link for discount on stays over 3 nights: http://www.nickhotel.com/suite_current.jsp

Hi Patricia,
When in November are you going to Nick hotel? We are also going there after our 4 night cruise, for 3 nights on Nov. 9-11, but the lowest rate I could find was $255 a night. They said that since it was Veteran's day weekend the rates were higher. I think that the Nick hotel website will allow you to reserve room and pay upfront, or if you call directly you could also do it over phone. But if you pay upfront there is no refund. There is a 15% discount rate if you are going for 3 nights, which is better than AAA 10% discount rate.
Have you ever stayed at Nick hotel? My kids are dying to go there!
