Otherwise known as Nick Hotel (and yes I do realize I misspelled Nickelodeon in my title LOL)

Anyone stayed there before? Opinions? Is the pool REALLY heated or just kind of heated? WE would be there this December and if the water is the least bit chilly my kids would not enjoy the pools. Any info on the amenities would be appreciated as well.

The website makes it look fabulous but, alas, I've been duped before:mad:

Thanx

Pamela

I too was looking at the nick hotel and went over to tripadvisor.com and read some reviews. I have to say that I was more than surprised at how many negative comments there were, I was really wishing they would have been more positive since my 5 year old was loving the website. Just letting you know that after reading those reviews I'm changing my plans...beware!

We have stayed there twice and I can say we were happy both times. It is Holiday Inn style for kids. If you want luxury you won't find it. If you want your kids to be in bliss, you'll have a great time. The pool is heated. The slides aren't does it stop the kids, no. It worked perfectly for us our DS would disappear into the slides only to reappear when he wanted to warm up. I recommend this hotel for kids but only if your rate is discounted. I wouldn't want to pay full price.

My kids love it there, but this year we chose to avoid it. We have stayed at Nick Hotel in December, and it was decent. Actually the pool felt very warm in the cold temperatures (it was 30 degrees some days! we weren't in the pool on those!! :scared1:)
In our opinion though, its very overcrowded and overpriced. Lots to do and see, but there is SO much to see everywhere. Do you want to spend a day or two just at Nick Hotel? The shows and craft projects ARE fun, but again, overpriced. The suites are on the small side for a family of 5 (3 smaller kids). There is also a $25 resort fee per night added to your stay - no waiving for AAA anymore.
I'd keep your options open. You can always stay there one or two nights (preferably not on a weekend b/c its packed!) and then move to another resort too.
Good luck! :)

We just spent our last night of our trip there 11/1/09 and the kids had a great time. In some spots the hotel is starting to show it's age, I wish they had better upkeep. The room was really cute and the pool wasn't too crowded I guess cuz it was off season. I will say watch your kids on the slide area. I was sitting at a table right outside the slides and the 2 guards were standing around talking for 5-10 min at a time while they were supposed to be watching the slide and the play area. I told my son he wasn't allowed to go down that slide anymore because the guard wasn't paying attention to when the kids went down. He wanted to go down the other slide that was farther in so I told him ok and when he got to the bottom of the slide a kid was dancing around on the slide so my son couldn't get off and then another kid came down immediately after my son and kicked him in the back. I guess that guard wasn't paying attention either! The guards that were around the mail pool seemed very professional, but I won't take my kids back there again because of the other guards.

We stayed there in December a few years back and we LOVED it. We got employee pricing however, I don't think I would pay full price.

We participated in a game show, my kids were 10 & 13 or 11 & 14 at the time, can't remember. They loved the poolside games & were a bit chilly on the slides, but didn't seem to care.

We would definitely go back again.
