We were at disney for long weekend over power rangers weekend. I decided to go ahead and book a room at the nick hotel for one night so that we could go over and do the vip power rangers package and the ninja turtle dinner.
The hotel is easy to get to and was about a 25-30 dollar cab ride from the grand Floridian including tip.
We arrived about 2pm and we were all checked in and waiting at the restaurant by a few minutes after 2pm. All the employees we met were friendly and went out of their way to assist us. I was surprised by how helpful and nice they were. The character interaction is amazing and blows disney away. If we didn't have to also book a room I would probably go over for a character meal whenever we are at disney.
I bought the cd of images for only 40 dollars. I will say that there are quite a few negatives. The hotel looks worn. We never saw the room but the corridors have parts of the walls crumbling and the whole place smells mildewed. From the view I did get into rooms as we walked by they looked rough. As a hotel I would never stay there but they have some great entertainment for kids who like the nick characters.
The total cost for this excursion was high and that is what would stop me from doing it often. Including room price, fees, a few gift shop items, the photos, the 150 for two of us at the power ranger meet (very cool, met the real characters from the current show, watched a not yet aired episode) I think about 40 for the ninja turtle Buffett and then tips I spent about 500 dollars. So it's fun for a special excursion but between the travel and cost not an every trip thing.
Just thought I would share thoughts since I wasn't able to find much when I was planning to do this. If anyone has any questions I am happy to answer them.
