NICK HOTEL Character Breakfast Question

Hello there. We are cruising DCL this month for my son's birthday but are staying at the Nick Hotel the night prior. We have been there before but have never done the character breakfast. My question is: is it worth it and how much is it? How good is the food. Thinking that we are heading to a ship with a plethera of food, just makes me think we may want to grab something light and then head to the ship to do the real eating....LOL....

Any ideas?

My family stayed there in 2005 so my info is old. We did the character breakfast and found the food to be horrible. Kids loved the characters, but it was mass chaos. Unlike Disney, they didn't have it set up well. Kids were running all over trying to get to the characters instead of sitting at their table and waiting. Nobody seemed to think this was a problem. DH and I didn't get too upset because we didn't pay for it. There had been a problem with our room door not locking so they gave us a credit that we used towards the breakfast. The kids, who were 5, 3, and 1 all had a good time so I guess it was worth it to go.

Well Ok then.
I have read mixed reviews, BUT...
We LOVE the character breakfast at The Nick, both the food and the atmosphere! The staff has always been very attentive, and their interaction with our kids-above and beyond. We've done the breakfast several times over the past 5years, and never had a bad time. It was busy...and it was pricey...but in our opinion, it was at least on par with most of the character breakfast offerings at WDW or US/IOA.
Mileage will vary, but we will will be back again.
