I know, it is a little late to post a trip report. But I love everyone else's so much and I must put up my own!

So, here is some background. My name is Jess. I'm 24, I live in Salem, Massachusetts where I am the cook at a local diner. I met Nick, my DBF way back in December of 2006. We started dating soon after, even though he was in Los Angeles doing his internship for his film degree from BU. In April of 2007 I took a few days vacation in LA and he took me to Disneyland for my birthday gift. Who knew that this short trip would become an illness shared by two people?

It was at Disneyland that the seeds for a trip to Florida were planted. You know you're dating a Disney freak when you're at one park talking nonstop about when you're going to visit the other! We had a wonderful time there, even though I sprained my ankle on the Matterhorn (don't ask!). I wish I had pictures, but they were all on my old cell phone that crapped out last year.

We have both been to WDW about five or six times with our families and we loved it. His house has tons of Disney stuff in it, every time I go over I get my cocoa in a Disney mug! My favorite story about my family is the time we had to buy an extra bag to take stuff home. My mom is a shopper!

Nick and I were super excited to plan our own trip. We decided on the end of Jan/beginning of Feb because it had cheap flights and small crowds. We booked Pop Century through AAA and got a great deal. I booked a character breakfast for us at Ohana and I wanted to have one "nice" sit down meal so we chose Tutto Italia.

Next post: trip photos!

I only have one picture of me on our first day. It had been 10 years between trips and we were much more concerned with going to the park than taking pictures!

Bright and early at 8:00am we got a phone call from Stitch telling us to WAKE UP! Nick and I took the bus to the Magic Kingdom where we grabbed the monorail to The Poly. It really felt like we were there as soon as we heard the monorail speech in Spanish. It is the only full sentence I can say in Spanish!

Nick didn't know how to feel about going to a character breakfast without kids. He thought we'd be the only adults there by themselves and it would be be embarrassing. Not only were there other adult couples there but the food was so good we forgot to be self conscious. That pineapple bread, my goodness!

Me and Mickey. I told Mickey that it had been 10 years since Nick and I had been there and he counted on his four fingered gloves and hugged me. I was almost in tears, it was wonderful.

Stitch is one of my favorite characters. I told him that he shouldn't tell the other guys, but I was really there just to see him. He covered his face and gave me a kiss!

The waitress saw us taking pictures of each other and offered to take one of us together. It took about five times to get it right, but it was worth it!

We had a lot of fun at the breakfast. We stuffed ourselves on the breads, POG juice, eggs and bacon. Nick has so completely gotten over his self consciousness that he wants to go back to Ohana for a character breakfast on our next trip.

Next post: Wandering around Poly, doesn't my family have a stone...
