nice indoor ceremony locations other than the wedding pavilion?

I like the idea of Sea Breeze Pointe, but neither my fiance-to-be nor I like the idea of standing outside in the heat for too long. The wedding pavilion seems too large and formal to us...Does Disney have any other nice indoor locations? We would have a fairly small group, probably around 20 or so. I'm sure that we could use one of their ballrooms, but it seems like that would need a lot of decoration in order to look really special. Any thoughts, anyone? Thanks.

I was originally supposed to be married in the Atlantic Dance Hall--but then my party got too large...I thought that would be really cool...

Or you could do outside the porch on the attic--it would be cooler but still quasi outside and on the boardwalk. They have a ballroom at the Boardwalk called the Marvins Garden or something like that...it has windows that leads out to a patio where you can have your outdoor reception--you might try that?

Okay lets see....
You are having 20 some peoplee, so you are having a custome right?
How many Bridal attendents are you having?
Did you already pic a place for the reception?

I was going to suggest Sunrise Terrace at the Wildreness lodge. Although it would be a cool place (I mean not to hot), It would probably be too snug for that many people. Although your planner may be able to make it work by adding another bench or two.

I know they do ceremonies on the covered porch of the Yacht Club. That is the rain out location for those who are using the Gazebo. (it may be a little snug as well)

There is the American Rotunda in Epcot, this is a lovely location. Although if you found the Wedding Pavilion to be too large, this probably will too. However, there is a VIP room upstiars. It is used for Illumination Dessert Parties when the weather is bad. This may be worth looking into.
Any of the pavilions in the world showcase could probably be use as long it is done early in the morning and it is finished up by the time the park opens at 11:00am.

Personally, I think Sea Breeze point is such a lovely location and would work well for the size of group that you have. I think since it is covered, it will help block the sun. Maybe you could just change the time of day you ceremony will be. Have it in the morning or later in the evening.

Thanks for all of the suggestions - everyone on this board is so helpful!

Codie, I will definitely look into the ballroom that you mentioned at the Boardwalk-it sounds like it could be nice.

Merandab4, In answer to your questions - we will probably have just one bridal attendant and a best man. We haven't picked a place for the reception, but we really like the boardwalk area and plan to stay there, so we were hoping to keep the ceremony/reception in that area, but we are still very early in our planning so we are still flexible in terms of locations. And we might end up with fewer people than 20 people (depends how many people on his side of the family actually decide to attend), so we will also check into Sunrise Terrace and see how many people can fit there. We might also do as you suggested and have the ceremony either earlier or later in the day, but I just wanted to see if anyone knew of any other options.

Hi all. My fiancée and I are looking to get married at Disney World in September or October or so. Just an Escape wedding, with the bride and groom plus 5-10 guests. Does anyone know if it's possible to have an indoor ceremony anywhere other than the Wedding Pavilion for that size group? I don't really see any indoor ceremony options at all (other than that) for small weddings on the disneyweddings website.

If this is possible, can anyone recommend some locations? Although we like lots of the outdoor locations, we're a little paranoid about too hot/too cold/too windy/too bright. Etc. We're not particularly interested in the Pavilion, as it seems like it would be weird to have so few people in such a large space. But maybe that's not correct -- has anyone had a small wedding in there, and found it to not be too big?

Thanks!

just a thought for the two asking about locations and concerend that the WP is too big/too formal. it wasn't my first choice but i am so glad we used it! our entire party was like 32 people (including us) with one attendant each. i was concerned that it would be too big or look kind of sad with a little group but it was fine. also, we really didn't do any extra decor there (no altar stuff, nothing!) - it doesn't "need" it and kept things simple and lovely. so good luck in finding other locations - i am sure you will! - but just to reassure that using the WP wasn't "too much" as i feared and having the oprion of the organist/music system and all the facilities right there (brides vestibule etc) actually made it easier in the end!

have fun hunting!

Thanks very much! That makes me feel a bit better about that option. (I'm still interested in other indoor suggestions though, if anyone's got any!) Hearing that the Pavilion looks good without extra decorations is definitely a plus -- one of the reasons we're looking at Escape weddings is because we don't want to have to do a bunch of decorations planning, so that is great. Thanks!

A few years ago, DisBride, Vanessa (FigmentFan) got married inside the American Adventure Pavilion. It's a very pretty location and definitely doesn't need a lot of decorations.

From what i've seen on these boards, when it comes to DFTW, "ask and you shalleth recieve" :rotfl:
But seriously, I would peruse the boards for some people's reception locations and pick some you like, then at your plannin`g session ask if it's possible and all the specifics required for that location.
For example, the living seas salon is usually used for receptions, but I've seen pictures of ceremonies being held there.

It'll take a little research on your part since DFTW has a reputation for not being very forthcoming for suggestions, but I'm sure you'll find the perfect location :goodvibes
