Nice find for those of you into WDW history..

Mike that is so sad and maddening as my relatives driving past the Disneyland highway exit like 5 times when I was a kid.

California Relatives NO, Disneyland Characters YES !

O'Mike! Is that TRUE??? OMG. You poor kid!

That is one weird and creepy commercial for Eastern and WDW. :scared:

Wow. That's some kinda' disappointment for a little kid! Look at you now though! You OWN the place! :teeth:

Very much true! As a conciliation we went to Cypress Gardens.....:sad1:

Tell me about it. My parents thought a part of one day was plenty at the Magic Kingdom. We had to arrive around 9:30 and SIT DOWN TO BREAKFAST at The Town Square Cafe (now Tony's) before starting down Main St. Then we had to leave around 2:00 to go back to the hotel (The Golf Resort) to NAP before dinner. After dinner, the park was closed.

Then the next day we had to go to Sea World, which back in 1974 was just a big tank next to a childrens' playground with sea horses on big springs that you could rock back and forth on. You could see how pissed I was in our home movies.

Mike, I recall previously hearing that you'd visited the preview centre, but, I don't think I understood that you did so expecting to find an open Magic Kingdom. How traumatic!

OMG Mike! I can't even imagine how you and your parents felt! I'm sure they weren't happy about it either. I can just picture the scene from Vacation where they get to Wally World and it's closed and Clark W. Griswold punches the moose in the face!!

Great video Mike - thanks for sharing it. I love looking back at the way things were. I've got a few items that I've somehow collected over the years including some ticket books. I didn't get to go until I was in college but my parents went (yeah, without me ... how's that for trauma!) and I got their leftover tickets. On the back of the ticket books they list the cost and there are 2 different ones - some are "8 Adventures in the Magic Kingdom for $8.50" and one is "16 Adventures in the Magic Kingdom for two days for one adult for $16.00".
