I just found this deal, if you're interested in the Petty Driving Experience, it's an awesome deal & if you're not interested in the driving experience, it's still not a bad price...

Bonnet Creek is immediately behind CBR & consists of 1 & 2 bedroom villa's... it's not considered onsite, so you don't get those perks.... It's a Fairfield Property, you could do a search on the DVC board for recent photo's... Too bad this deal only extends til 10-1...

Does anyone know if this resort has High Speed Internet Access? Has anyone stayed here? (I know that it just opened). If yes...what can you tell us about the resort?

We are traveling to Orlando in August and my brother-in-law is a race car freak...he'd LOVE this.

Fairfields looks pretty nice. Thanks for info.

herc..

It opened about a month ago to the first guests (only about 20+ units with another 60+ opening in August ...and more next winter, I think).

I've read a report from someone who toured on July 6th. He said that the main pool area (w/lazy river) is now open as well as the activities services. He mentioned that he could see the Epcot ball from a 4th floor balcony (2BR) so expected the fireworks to be visible as well. He could also see MGM's ToT from there. Apparently, the construction is now mostly away from the immediate pool area so should cause little disturbance. Didn't say anything more about it. Sounds very nice though and the location is terrific. HTH!

Here's an update on the current shuttle service to the parks from the Fairfield Bonnet Creek Resort, for anyone considering a stay there. Apparently, from what I've read, management is already changing the shuttle service company (outside contracts, not Disney buses), with a new one beginning this week, looking to improve upon service. There may be further changes and there's no info about changes due to change in park hours so this is it at the moment. There is presently no charge for this shuttle service for guests while staying at FF BCR.

From the schedule (below), it appears to me that the shuttle bus service picks up guests at the resort then drops them directly at the theme parks without changing buses at the TTC. However, it also appears that each bus goes to all 4 of the theme parks (making it a rather long ride for some destinations). IF this is so, a car may still be better while offering a free alternative to those without a car or those who want to split up at times (teens, parents with young children and/or grandparents). Here is the schedule:

Daily departures from the resort to the Disney theme parks (don't know where exactly they drop off or in which order):
  • 8:20 a.m.
  • 9:20 a.m.
  • 10:20 a.m.
  • 4:45 p.m.
  • 7:00 p.m.
  • 8:45 p.m.
Daily afternoon (p.m.) departures from the parks, returning to the resort:
  • 3:15 p.m.(MK) / 3:30(E) / 3:45(MGM) / 4:00(AK)
  • 5:30 p.m.(MK) / 5:45(E) / 6:00(MGM) / 6:15(AK)
  • 7:45 p.m.(MK) / 8:00(E) / 8:15(MGM)
  • 9:45 p.m.(MK) / 10:00(E) / 10:15(MGM)
Haven't seen mention of shuttles to any other area theme parks (SW or Univ) so far. This is all I have read about it from someone who is staying there now. FWIW, his family is enjoying their stay and the photos he's posted to a FF owners' group are lovely (spacious, well-appointed rooms, lake views or fireworks views from upper floors and an attractive, completed main pool area). Will be very, very nice when built out. HTH! :)
