I didn't get a chance to post this earlier. Did everyone get through the storm ok? Anyone suffer damage? The pictures of the flooding sure are eyeopening, and downright scary. Anybody from the western part of the state?

We live in central southern MA and need to get a roofer here ASAP! We had dripping into our upstairs bathroom last night.

see my post regarding pictures. I am literally on the VT/NH line and saw the devastation first hand today

:wave2: I'm in Southwestern NH- basically 10 miles west of Keene and 10 miles east of Brattleboro, VT.

Thanks for the concern!

Crazy rain yesterday!

Our house weathered the rain fine but many area roads are washed out. We have small brook across the street from our house and it managed to wipe out half the road in two different spots.

I'll also be driving to work on an alternative route due to some major damage on a road I travel which is near the Ashuleot River.

The power of water is amazing!

Thanks again for thinking of us!

Saw your post but missed the first line about it being so close to you.

Nope- not Chesterfield- Westmoreland. You can come speed in Westmoreland- I hardly see any cops. I drove Route 9 toward Concord regularly and that is the biggest State Police magnet- speeders beware!!

I saw those WMUR pics earlier today- amazing. Glad you are OK.

When I saw the between keene and bratt, I figured had to be chesterfield, route 9 LOL

I hate route 9 to concord, my radar detector NEVER stops beeping!

how did the new road down by the watering hole hold up? and good ol 63? i went north today to claremont because I knew Keene was under water LOL

everythings fine here in concord. Though I'm wondering what my UNH dorm room looks like since my roomate and both left for the weekend and our windows were about a 1/4 open. :rolleyes1

I don't live near the flooding area, so I'm okay. Glad to hear everyone else is too.

LOL. Thank god I remembered to close mine.
Glad to hear no one suffered any damage so far. I saw some of the flooding in through Plymouth :earseek: today as we were coming home from up north. Not pretty, but not half as bad as what I've seen on the news.

Hi there

I'm from Sanbornton, and things aren't too bad here. A lot of dirt roads have washed out, but no one is hurt. Those pictures on channel 9 are scary though.

We have been gone all weekend. What happened? I hope everyone is okay.

NH got A LOT of rain this weekend. Some parts of the state (the southwestern part) got 10+ inches, in a day. A lot of the rivers have flooded, washing away bridges, roads, and even a couple of houses. Dams have breached. A state of emergency has been declared because things are such a mess. Mudnuri has a thread around here that has some pictures, that show some of the damage. The pictures are really incredible.
We were up north when everything happened and got a phone call this morning from my grandparents' friend begging us to turn on the news because the southern part of the state had flooded and the national guard was being deployed and stuff. He forgot to tell us though, that it was the other side of the state (thankfully from where we live). We saw some flooding through the central part of the state too as we came home. The rivers are unbelievably high.

Things are pretty messy. Rte 9 bridge in Sullivan is totally washed out. Looks like Rte 101 is going to be pretty busy for awhile for those of us going into Keene.

Most of the shops on Main St/Key Rd/Winchester St in Keene suffered damage. Not to mention the Best Western had to be evacuated!

So much for the "leaf peeping" this weekend!

Hey, all my fellow NHers.

I live in Deerfield, so we didn't get flooded. The river overflowed a bit, but the fire department ran out there and sucked up the water to fill one of the trucks. Talk about recycling. ;)

My driveway got a little flooded because there are wetlands on either side, but we were able to barrel through it with our Blazer.

There were some trees down because of the high winds, too.

I came into work on Saturday and there were a ton of accidents on 93 South. I saw some guy spin around in a bunch of circles before he slammed into the guard rail. It was really treacherous.

Glad to hear that so far everyone is ok. Very scarey weekend for my two ds (9) & (7), who had to be rescued from the rising waters. They were camping with their grandmother near Washington, NH and awoke to find that the little stream surrounding the campgroud was now a 50ft swiftly moving river. The water had taken over several sites and was up to the bottom of her site's driveway, rising quickly. The road and bridge getting out were gone as well as all the roads going in and out of town were closed. She called me panicing. Fortunately, (and against the warnings about not doing so) My stepfather raced up there in a very big truck with 4 wheel drive, going through the roads with 3ft flooding :worried: and made it to the campground, but was unable to get to them because of the road/bridge wash out. Meanwhile two brave men found a less dangerous spot in the now waist high "river" and carried my children across to the safety of Grandpa and the very big truck. So after several scarey and stressful hours they finally made it home. My youngest ran into the house and gave me a big hug and said "Mom, I thought I would never see you again!" :sad1:

Oh my. I'm so sorry your sons went through that, but so glad they weren't seriously hurt.
AllyandJack: I know what you mean about treacherous driving. We were on 93 north on Saturday in the worst of the rain. Anytime we hit 60 mph for a little while the car would start to hydroplane. Thankfully that stretch only lasted a few miles but I don't think I've ever been so happy to see my grandparents' house as I was that afternoon.
