We are headed with my parents and sister to NFLD this July(from Moncton NB). I haven't been there since I was a kid. We are going to Marystown as we have family there. Yes, indeed, we are driving :scared: with a 4 and 3 yr old, 14 yr old, and us 3 adults in a 6 seater truck. lol
BUT, I was hoping someone could help me with tshirts for my kids. I want to make them tshirts that say My first NFLD Trip...in a tasteful way. Any ideas how to do this for cheap? We have DW in Nov as well, so most of our money is going towards that.
We are SO excited for NFLD...YAY!:banana:
THEN! DW!!! Even bigger YAY!:banana::banana:

No ideas for the t-shirt, just wanted to say I hope you have a great Newfoundland visit! July should be beautiful - its the first month of summer here (seriously), and often really nice weather-wise. If you need ideas for things to do in St. John's, just let me know!

Thanks for the well wishes!! Im usually a big planner when it comes to trips, but my Uncle gets so excited to show off his province. He is so proud, my mother has told me to just let him plan. So Im sitting back on the side lines for this one.
I LOVE St Johns!!! From what I remember it as a kid, it's just gorgeous! I love NFLD for that matter. Im a Newfie at heart I think. Trapped in a NBer's body. ;)
I take it you live in St Johns? What do you do with young ones there? Just, anything specific..museums and such. We are going to be a week before the regata (apparently) which I think the kids would have loved to see. It's the way she goes eh? :)

I spent last night making t-shirt transfers for my dh's birthday. It's so easy to get the transfers from Michael's or whatever, and print something off and then just iron it on to a t-shirt. (The back of one they have, or you can buy them for $6 at Michael's.) You can put ANYTHING on a t. Growing up in NL, I was always taken by the Viking ship logo...you can probably find that on-line somewhere. An outline map of the province, or a pitcher plant? (The only province with a carnivorous provincial flower! :rotfl:)

Haven't really brought my kids back yet, need to do that but almost all my relatives are gone. (And my dh still has flashbacks about CN Marine--apparently the new ship is much better!!) I hope you have a wonderful time.

Oh, just lost an edit. Grr.

Anyway, if you are there around the Regatta, do go, it's unique (in a good way ;) ). Also around that time is Folk Fest in Bannerman Park, can't remember if it's the weekend before or after Regatta. Definitely lots of fun, and I've seen lots of families there. When we do take the kids back, I'll be planning for Regatta/Folkfest weekend. (Or maybe blueberry season; it's a hard call!)

The Railway Coastal Museum ( the old CN Railway Station ) in downtown St. John's is very nice, Bowering Park is also beautiful during the summer as well.
There is also the Newfoundland Science Centre in Downtown St. John's. Depending on the time of year you are visiting, the Annual Busker Festival is great for kids as well. You can check out the City of St. John's Website for the Events Calendar...have fun

Thanks for the advice!! I will definitely need to try that paper. I only have black ink for my printer, but heck, can't see why that matters! Its just when the kids get out of the truck at their Great Uncle's and their faces reading their tshirts will be priceless. They are so proud...and it's not too often our side of the family gets to go over, usually it's them coming over here. Oh yay, so excited!! :banana:

Thanks a bunch! I will have to definitely check it out!! :) I remember hearing about Bowering Park, and I sort of think I have been there, but it's been a few moons ago. ;) I will check out St John's website.

Put a picture of a Newfoundland dog on it. i love those dogs. I lived in St John's for 4 years for work and have cousins in Mary'stown.
