We will be there next week Wednesday-Sunday, staying at Hard Rock (first timers). Will arrive in time for a few hours in the parks on Wednesday. What are the current covid protocols at Olliander's? Would like to do that on Wednesday if possible so kids can enjoy their wands for the rest of the stay. Any other tips?

If you want to do the little "show" with the wand picking a random kid then I believe you have to make an appointment for that (dont quote me). but to just go in the store is fine

Wand show needs an appointment. In November, they were letting in 2 families at a time for the show.

We got ours at Diagon Alley in August and it was private one family show. We had to go around back and sign up. we signed up for 2 slots so each kid got chosen. we were there early morning and had options to pick times. I think it changes based on which ollivanders you go to and how busy the day is.

In December it was queuing and groups of 2-3 families vs signing up. Queues were quite long given the limited capacity. Good thing to do on your first day.

Pre-Covid, I had good luck with doing Ollivanders in the evening, since most people want to get the wand first thing to play with it during the day. There was no line at the end of the day. Note that the Ollivanders show does not stay open until park close though, and if busy they might fully book up depending on how they're running things.

At the Hogsmeade Ollivanders during Thanksgiving, we did a (short) standby line at night. There was one other family in there with us...
