Hello!

I haven't posted here for a long time. We are taking our next trip January 19 - 26 & staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. We just went at the end of Sept thru Oct 6 just my husband & I. After being so many times, it just wasn't as exciting anymore. Any advice on getting the Disney spark back? I still haven't seen the Harry Potter stuff at Universal. Wish it was at Disney. Would like to go there for a day to see that. Please give me some vacation advice! I want to have fun! I've gotten to where thrill rides make me sick too. . .I do like shows & sitting is a plus! lol

Thanks!

Sorry your magic is fading. We have gone so many times we were afraid this would happen to us too but we always seem to have a good time. We are not park commandos any more and don't ride too many thrill rides either.

Every trip we try to mix it up and find new things to do. It helps to stay at different resorts every time. Even though we aren't staying a VGF next month we are excited to go over and check out the lobby and the grounds. If you haven't already, schedule a tour of the rooms at the Preview Center.

Try a new (to you) restaurant or 3. Play mini golf. Go over to Fort Wilderness and rent a golf cart or a bike and explore. Take that trip over to Universal.....why not?

Hope you enjoy your trip!

Have you been to GFV?
I think you should check it out. Or if you're lucky maybe next time you can sneak in a reservation there.
Don't worry about the parks, once you arrived at the resort you wouldn't want to go to the parks :lmao:

We just came back and DH and I are talking about sneaking in some days to go back there (GFV) withOUT going to the park.
Just an R&R time.
Since our last trip was pretty packed. Nobody really got time to relax. We regretted not putting in some down time just to enjoy the place because the place is just beautiful.

WLV is beautiful also (I've fallen asleep in the WLV lobby before... it's just so darn tranquil in there), maybe you can enjoy resort time by going to FW or just hanging out at DTD.
No park time required.

We only go in Dec and Jan now because we love the Christmas atmosphere and palm trees in the winter. We live in Mass and I hate snow and it's so dark here in Dec. We bought 500 points at the VGF because it's so beautiful. We love walking around the BC and the BW. We visit the VWL and sit in the lobby and relax. We rent a car and shop at Publix and explore some stores so it feels like home to us now. We go to Celebration. We go to the parks for only a few hours a day. It really is a winter retreat for us.

Sometimes you just need to take some time to enjoy the resort. Our last trip we took two days and just sat in the villa and enjoyed the resort. We're now thinking that maybe we won't need tickets for every day.

Maybe go less frequently, get better accomodations (like a bigger villa -we had a one bedroom for the two of us). We slept in a bit, did the resort quiet pool, ate at the resort, watched a little TV, took naps. As a result, we didn't need a vacation from our Disney vacation. We did do the F&W Festival and had two special events planned ahead of time for the F&W. We enjoyed that and plan on doing it again next year.
