I just had to laugh --- I think I spend more time thinking about and planning my next trip than actually going on it.

My progression:
1) I take a trip.
2) I say "We'll probably take a year off from Disney, bank our points, go somewhere else, and do a longer trip in two years.
3) From there, I say "I think I better lay off the disboards for a while," which makes sense since I won't be taking a trip to Disney for two years.
4) About 4 months later, I start thinking "Maybe we'll just do a short trip in the summer..............or just 'stop by' while going to Tampa."
5) Then I start searching around the web for 'stop by options' (where we'd stay, how much park tickets would be for a 'short' stay, etc.)
6) Then I am back on disboards.
7) I'm checking airfare, point totals, availability of villas.....
8) I'm starting to make rationalizations like this: "If we stay 7 days as opposed to 3, park tickets are only a few bucks more per day......And if we decide to take NEXT year off, we can simply just borrow the points we need from that year."
9) We're booked for a week-long DVC stay in our supposed "off" year.
10) I am back on here for a few minutes daily looking for vacation planning ideas.
etc.
etc.
etc.

We do the same exact thing......

And, eventually, you will just progress to getting APs and figuring out how to get at least two trips out of it. :rotfl2:

Our 250 points & APs get us three 6-7 night trips in a 1 bedroom, but there is a 14 month stretch between cycles to deal with, LOL. That's hard, but it does give us some incentive to visit the relatives and go other places every other year. :rotfl:

I never stop planning a trip I've always got dates in mind for the next one when I'm there my hubby thinks I'm nuts but I've noticed that he does too just not as noticeable as me. He's the reason we are cruising on the dream in sept

I've recently found an annual event held on Disney property that just so happens to professionally compliment my job. I told my wife, "There's no way we can miss this event every year."

If this event was held anywhere else in the world, I could miss it. Since it is held on Disney property, I have convinced myself that my career would go down the drain if I missed it.

I spend at least some portion of every day planning my next trip.
This is why we knew the dvc was for us. Sure, we were only spending money to stay at Values, but eventually the values were going to go up in price so why not join the dvc now and prepay for our vacations for the next 40 or so years...

I always have two trips planned at a time. I'm a disney junkie.

We always start planning another trip before we even go on the upcoming one. Worst are the years we have APs......then ti's aLways in my mind that all another vaca will cost us is airfare:) poor DH doesn't get as much time off as I do, so I go with our daughter or my parents or DB for the extra trips.
Life is good:cloud9:

How 'bout I gave all my 2012 points to my sister for her family's first trip to the World, thinking that by doing that it'll permanently make next year our "off year" for Disney....Surprise, Surprise -- now I am seriously considering adding on points (or borrowing from 2013) to use for Spring of next year!!!:headache:;)

Goofydad tells me I get the "Disney Shakes" if I don't have a trip planned. I guess I am so desperate for a trip I am taking our younger two children by myself because he and our ods can't take the time off this Summer.

Ditto..that is part of the fun! We go to DLR so don't stay lots of days at a time, and since it made sense to get APs well it only makes sense if we go twice in a year, right? So..upcoming ...just finished a trip in January with a son and his family, August going with a friend and her DH & DD to Expo then DH joins us, October, going with another son and family, next January, going with daughter and family in conjunction with a Michael Jackson Cirque show...and so it goes..I love having DVC and being able to gift people their rooms. :)

I don't even make any pretenses about it anymore. We're going to WDW once or twice a year, every year plus HHI once a year. This winter hit us hard and I've told DW that from now on (except 2012), I want to do a week down at WDW during January. Plus I won't to do one more trip during the year, either May (F&G) or October (F&W). We always go to HHI in either June or August. Now one thing I do want to change is start doing some non-park trips to WDW. Maybe make our January trip a non-park trip.

Wait, I did that right from the start!:scared1: Does that mean there's an add-on in my near future so a can try to get three trips?:woohoo:

This sounds like what just took place the middle of Jan. in our house. We were just going to do two nights at BCV before heading down to Singer Island. Started looking at prices of a car to drive to Singer, the extra cost of the hotel down there. If we just borrowed 2012 points, and bought 7 pts we could do a week at Disney and buy park tickets for the kids(we have AP's). Booked the trip that day, booked flight same day. Maybe next year we will do something different.......:rotfl2:

We were just sitting here trying to figure out what to do Feb 2012 and my SIL said "are you planning your next trip?" My DH said, "we are planning our 4th trip from now and we already planned our 5th trip from now!":rotfl:
I don't think she gets it.:confused3

What is Singer Island.........and do you recommend it?

It is an Island down north of Miami on the Atlantic. There is a Marriot Vacation Club, and we have Marriot pts and we were going to stay there instead of Disney. We changed our minds. It looked awesome and the 2 bedroom villa looked just like what we have at the DVC Villas.

^^^ This exactly!! ^^^

I love my job, I really do, but it is not the happiest of professions, so to counteract that, I enjoy Disney everyday!!
