Next Best to Disney???

Hawii is super awesome. We have been twice. We haven't been with our children yet we want to wait until the youngest is three. We have three kids so 3, 5, and 7 might make that 12 hour plane ride a little more sane. My DH and I are always talking about just picking up and moving there. Go if you have a chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is really fun. I went with my family this past summer. It was so family-oriented. They had rides for little kids and rides for older kids. My DSis5 had a great time, so did I (13) and my other sis (9). My parents enjoyed the trip as well.

I've never been to the Hershey Parks, but I would really like to visit.

Regarding HersheyPark . . .

tell me, I've just checked the web site, is it always that low price to enter the park? Because I think that 10$ is not expensive at all for all of that!!!!

Oh, no! I'm not sure what that price is. Maybe for the special Christmas Candylane. They only open select attractions.

The regular price is $50.

I also would vote for Hershey !! There are a ton of things to do: trolley, theme park, chocolate world. The last time we were there (about 3 years ago) they had just opened a wonderful new children's garden at Hershey Gardens. The zoo associated with the park is so-so but if you are a zoo memeber in your town (American Zoololgical Assoc) then you get in free !!

If you are looking for rides, Cedar Point in Ohio just can't be beat. They do have a nice children's area as well.

I didn't have time to read through all the posts so forgive me if I am repeating. Hershey is wonderful, VA has many parks. Also West Coast of FL has Bush Gardens and nice beaches.

If you want to do a beach vacation, then Long Beach Island (LBI) in New Jersey is very, very I mean very kid friendly. There is a very little theme park called Fantasy Island. There's also a water park and the typical beach stuff, mini golf etc. All the restaurants are kid friendly and many are right on the water. If you stay on the beach it will cost you, but houses off the beach are reasonable. Also you can usually go with another family. We've been doing this every summer for years.

Cape Cod is also a great place to take kids. There are many activities for them including taking a dinner train ride, being pirates on a "real" pirate ship, a cute children's museum, the beach, the bay etc.

Family fun magazine often has ideas for kid-friendly vacation.

WE went to the Paramount Park named Carowinds, you can find them at www.carowinds.com

We also camp and love the family ones that have all sorts of great acitvities alot of them now have water parks and golf courses its a blast! Have fun whatever you do!
