Hi everyone!

I remember a month or so back some people mentioned sending a newsletter out to their guests before the wedding. I thought this was a great idea, and would love some advice on what to put in it.

I'm thinking...
Info about us as a couple(for his family who live farther away and have not met me yet)
Tips for traveling... cheap tickets, group flights, that kind of thing
Park Tips
Park food guide
wedding schedule

any other ideas? And, if anyone has a sample they could share, that would be great!

I think thats a great idea!

We were planning to do that but ours will be a bit different since we are doing the cruise. We were planning to include a packing list and details of the hotel for for the first night and give sort of a step by step plan of what people should expect and what they need to do to prepare. Overall the main purpose is the packing list and to get everyone super excited.

In your case I would include a list of your favorite rides and favorite restaurants and favorite things overall to do at disney, and mention any reservations for dining or shows like cirque de solei that should be done ahead of time. I might also consider a packing list so people don't forget obvious things like bathing suits and sneakers.

Is it possible to do two different ones and send out a lot of info about you to his family and keep it off of the newsleters going to your family? I think its a great idea - it just might be weird going to the people who know you really well. I feel like if there was some way to intertwine it with the rest of the letter and throw in details here and there about you that would be more fun then a bio at the start of it.

I am sure that no matter what you decide to do it will be great. The newletter overall is a fantasic idea. Don't forget to include lots of fun pictures and clipart!

we are going to be sending them. 1 at the 12-9 month mark with room reservatiom details and us as a couple and why we're getting married at Disney. at the 3-6 month mark we're semding one with park tickets, to do ideas, and the meal ideas. we'll also have on in the welcome packet with wedding day info and a laminated card with important phone numbera. I'll also have all the emial addresses to send updates as needed

I sent out a packet of info about 3 weeks before the wedding including a newsletter, map of the BW resort, park maps, a $1 Mickey Disney Dollar, CD with our 10 fave Disney songs, and a thank you letter:

Our guests raved about these packets!! :)

This is a great idea! If I were having people besides immediate family and my girlfriends immediate family and 2 friends, then I would definitely do it.
Awesome plan! :thumbsup2
