So...A little about myself, my family and our anxiously awaited trip to Disney.

I myself, a Mommy to two little princesses; have been to Disney twice...When I was 3 years old in 1981 (don't remember at all, except for looking at pictures) and again when I was 12. ( I do remember some...Magic Kingdom and Epcot...thought it was the most awesome place on earth!!)

Anyway, we will be arriving April 19th. We originally planned to stay at Port Orleans Riverside, but after calling to extend our stay they had no rooms available for the length of time we needed so we opted to downgrade to the All Star Movies Resort, which IMO looks as though my girls will LOVE! We will be staying till the 26th. So far, we have reservations for the Princess Storybook Dinner, Breakfast at the Hollywood and Vine, Cinderella's Dinner at 1900 Park Fare, Cape May Cafe Breakfast with Minnie for character dining and other dinners will include Tony's Town Square in the Magic Kingdom, The San Angel Inn in Mexico-Epcot, The Coral Reef-Epcot and breakfast at the Kona Cafe. We also will take our little princesses to the BBB.

I guess I am looking for advice as far as what things I do NOT want to miss. I know that there will be SO much to do and see that we may get overwhelmed. I want suggestions on your favorite things to do and the best times to do them. :) We originally planned to come in the fall, but due to a friend that lives in the area having her wedding on the 25th we decided to make our vacation plans around that.

Does anyone know if this time of year is considered especially busy? I am sure most time are though!

Anyway...I love this board so far! I have read lots of great info. Any additional info./advice will be greatly appreciated!

Welcome and hello. 1st off yes it will be a little busy during your time as this is Spring Break Time. Are the gilrs real young, their age will make a difference in recommendations.

Just take the parks at a good pace and don't forget to rest during the day. If you are there at rope drop and continue to go full force all day, you and the children will have melt downs. The parks are large and remember, hopefully there will be another trip in the future to do more of the things you missed this time. If the trip is fun and not work then you will want to return.

Get the Unoffical Guide book and read it. Review the rides and let the girls pick some out that they would like to do. You have picked some good ADR's and I am sure you will enjoy them. Crystal Palace in MK is a good choice as well.

In the parks everyone has their own opinion as to what is a must do and depending on your girls ages it will vary. Let us know so we can help you.

But most of all have FUN:goodvibes

My oldest daughter is 5 1/2 and the youngest is going to be 3 a few weeks after we are there. I definitely will take a look at the rides that are age appropriate for them and focus on them. Remembering to take some time out to relax is also great advice...remembering we are on "VACATION"!! LOL
I know that there will be times our almost 3 yr. old will not be able to ride a ride that our 5 year old will. I am hoping I can find little things to do with her during those times. We have an Aunt that lives in FL as well that will be visiting for a day or two while we are there. DH and I plan to use that time to hit any of the "big kid" attractions, as she will be able to use her expertise to show the girls around :)

So I guess suggestions for younger children would be needed for our group :)

First... WELCOME... second...CONGRATS on your trip....

It sounds like you have done some great research already s you already have good dining plans... have you thought about joining one of the paid subscriptions like tourguidemike.com? He has some great touring plans and some are made just for folks with small children... we have been to WDW almost 30 times and I still subscribe... for the $20 you pay it has a wealth of information.... most importantly for us is we have learned that by following his plans we hardly wait in any lines.... which could be great if you have young ones with you......

Stop by my PTR and we can plan together!!!!

Hi! Thanks! I have friends that have been and I have gotten advice from them. Plus I am obsessive with reading post on discussion boards! I have found a wealth of info. from reading here, there and everywhere.

So...about this tourguidemike.com...you have used his touring plans often? I am just hoping to make the most of our trip without driving myself or any of my family members crazy. I am going to take a look at the site. I did look at your PTR as well. Maybe I will post one? I saw a couple others as well and some of the members are going to be in Disney at the same time as we are!!

I just wanted to say welcome to DISboards and may you have a great time, have fun and enjoy in your upcoming trip. Looking forward in hearing more from you.

Have a nice and safe trip coming. :)

So

I just ordered some Disney Crocs off of their website. I read on another post that some Disney styles are on sale right now. I got DH and myself each a pair for $17.99 a piece. The girls were only $14.99 each! I totally think they are worth that price. I always thought they were overpriced for rubber shoes. I swore up and down I would NEVER wear a pair, but it makes sense to buy some for Disney! LOL I just want to be comfortable. We also all have sneakers we are going to be breaking in the 2 weeks before we go. My feet get hot though and so do my youngest DD's. I am a flip flop kind of girl if the weather is anywhere over 60 degrees, and I know that I can not wear flip flops around Disney.

Anyway, another great thing I discovered as I was checking out is that they offered me the Croc sling bag for half off. I think it was because I spent a certain amount of $$? I am not sure how much you would have to spend? My order total was $65.96 before I received the sling bag offer. Ended up getting free shipping after I added the sling bag, bringing the total to $74.95! The bag looks perfect to take into the park as it is worn in a way that you can wear it behind your back on rides. Too bad I had already ordered another suggested bag with our sneakers the other day. I am sure I can use both though :)

Those of you that own Crocs, do you go barefoot in them. Or do you wear ankle socks with them?

Sorry for rambling! I am just getting SO excited! The littlest things get me going on and on about the trip! Can't WAIT!!!!!!!!!
