Newbie to Universal Island of adventure

Hello all, i was wondering my cousin and i are going to Universal Island of adventure for the first time. We will not be driving, Want to take a taxi there to get there early, but don't know how to go about doing that. Should we order the taxi the day before or the day of, and what would be a good time to leave our disney resort.

There is a call button on your room phone for Taxi. It takes no time to get a Taxi, they are usually at our near your resort.
I'd plan to leave an hour before Universal Park opening. Like Disney, it's best to get to the park a bit before opening. Buy your ticket in advance on line. Then, plan to hit the major attractions first before lines get too long. Same way you would tour Disney.

You can also just walk outside and ask them to call you a cab. There are usually cabs waiting outside every resort in the mornings. On the three (GASP) days I went off property, I just went outside and asked them to hail me one. It was fine. I went to Sea World, Universal, and Islands of Adventure. Correct me if I'm wrong but that will be a 50 or 60 dollar cab ride FYI. I would budget at least an hour. As an FYI, last Thursday they closed WWoHP at 9:30am due to capacity. Then you lined up and waited for people to leave.

It probably is an expensive cab ride, not sure the cost. I think there is a Mears bus that leaves from one of the DTD hotels. You can phone Mears to find out.
You could also inq. how much it would be to hire a Town Car. Good luck.

I wish I'd written down the cost. I don't believe it cost $50-$60 though. It depends on where you are coming from I guess. I was at All Star Movies. Returning, I took the cab to Downtown Disney and then took the Disney bus back. I love walking around Downtown Disney, and it's closer to Universal. I think at most, it was $40, but I'll ask my friend, since she came with me to Universal, but not IoA.

Just make sure you use one of the Mears cabs, there are others that have higher rates.

Not sure if you already have tickets or not, but there's a ticket available through DreamUnlimited that includes transport (Mears) to and from Universal.
