I'm a long-time lurker, first time poster to the DisBoards. Our family took a trip last September and enjoyed the free dining plan then. We're planning on beginning to try for another little one this fall so of course I convinced DH that we just had to take one more trip to see the Mouse before enduring all that is pregnancy and the first 1-2 years with a little one all over again. :goodvibes

To my shock and amazement, DH agreed :thumbsup2

So we're planning our dates to fall into free dining once again. However, hubby has a conference that will push us into not arriving until September 26th. Not a problem as I prefer the slightly (as in 3 degrees) cooler weather then anyways.

Which brings me to my problem - I went online today to price out the trip on the WDW website. I thought I would just "take a peek" and see how much the Poly would be. After all, there's no harm in looking, right? :rolleyes1

Well, the website kicks back and tells me there's nothing available at the Poly for the time period

Really, nothing available? I can't imagine the Poly being sold out at what is considered a "slow" time of year. Even with Free Dining (which isn't even released to the public yet!), they should have something!

So now I'm paranoid. Is there some huge WDW thing going on I don't know about? Could this have anything to do with F & W?

How long are you staying? Try messing around with it adding a day either way (sounds strange, but sometimes it works) to check availabiilty. Sometimes it will say it's good for say, 8 days, but not for 6. It's a weird thing. Obviously calling always gives you the best (most current) info, but it might be hard getting through today with that free dining being released.

I was messing with it this morning using my dates (9/21-10-/3, also Poly) and they were showing availability.

P.S. Welcome to posting!!!!! It's such an addicting place. :)

So now it's showing available? Perhaps I am computer illiterate this a.m. Oh well, $3,000 isn't bad but too rich for our blood with discussions of another :cutie: on the way.

We stayed at POR last year and thought it was great. Hubby is very, very picky about food though and wasn't 100% thrilled. Thought we might try Wilderness Lodge this year as I hear the food choices are much better and everyone seems to love that resort. I like the fact it has boat transportation to MK and the Contemporary too. We drive, and I hate the bus system.

WL is really wonderful- we've stayed there twice. Make sure to call though and book if you have the Disney Visa- that way you can get the cheaper rooms and not worry about paying extra for a courtyard view. We used our rental car for everything, but took the bus or boat to MK- both of which are very short trips and not bad at all.

If you ever have trouble with the website- it might just be easier to call Disney directly.

We drive as well, and also hate the buses. :)

I think WL is a wonderful choice, and we almost went that route. It's so convenient! We're planning to move to central Florida first of next year, so I figured this would be my only chance to stay at the Poly for a "long" vacation. (since we'll be moving like 1/2 hour from WDW.) If I didn't have a 40% off code, I sure wouldn't be doing it!

I hope you have a wonderful trip. :)
