Newbie (sorta) Going to WDW w/kiddos 1st time; Went lots as a kid... what's changed?

Good afternoon, all!

We got tickets for a [blended] family trip to WDW in January 2023. It'll be the first time for 3 of us, but I went lots as a kid and even worked in MK as a Ticket Taker oh so long ago (20+ years ago).

I'm looking for advice/positive experiences from others who've been in my shoes...
