Hi all!
My husband and I signed up for the the Family Run 5K coming up in January (January 11th), we have been going down to WDW every January for the last 10 years or so and this is our first attempt at running one of the marathon races. I have been running for about 2-3 years (averaging about 3-3.5 miles jogging at about a 11 min/mile), and I figured it was time to actually run something official.

However, I have a few questions. To get to the 5k I see they have bus service from your resort (we are staying at Wilderness Lodge) to the start of the race, from 4:30-6, every 20 mins or so, is it better to take the bus or drive? I am guessing taking the bus would be better (due to traffic and such) but I have never done this before so what do I know?

If we do take the bus what is a good amount of time to get out there to catch it? If the race starts at 6:30, I am assuming its a good idea to be there by 6, and probably be waiting on the bus by 5:15 or so, but again what do I know I have never done this before! :)

Also usually what time is everything over? If was to make a breakfast ADR somewhere is that a good idea? I mean we arn't running anything like 16 miles or 23 miles, but I am assuming we will probably still be hungry. Does anyone have any traditions they would care to share? Thanks!

Welcome to moving up from jogger to runner. The only difference being the entry form.

Drive or Bus? You can do either. For the 5k, I would say driving is preferable since the race entirely on Epcot property and no traffic closures occur.

Bus Time, the Race instruction will have the bus schedules. I would try to hit the buses no later than the middle of the pickup period just to be safe.

For ADRs go with your favorite breakfast comfort food. You should be out of the parking lot by 7:45-8am We do a Friday Cape May breakfast with Goofy each year for the mojo. There are several 5k runners in line as we leave. Driving makes even more sense if you are looking to hit a meal
